The CS Latter-Day Saints (Mormons)

A couple of my friends are Mormon, and they're pretty awesome. The only thing I really notice about their religion is that they talk about it a lot because it is such a large part of their lives. I remember when we had to go to a meeting at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday once, one of my Mormon friends showed up dressed in fancy clothes because they'd just gotten out of church. Ouch.

Any who, questions:

The local Mormon church also gave a couple of our teachers Crystal Apple awards recently. Do you know anything about those?

My friends also mention talking to 'missionaries' a lot. I remember feeling confused when I heard that. Why would they need missionaries? Don't those guys go off to far away places and convert people?

I ought to be asking my real-life friends these questions, but they don't really like discussing these things with non-Mormons. Which makes sense, because some people are really rude to them about their religion. A lot of people at our school think it's okay to make fun of Mormons, for some bizarre reason.

Well, I don't know anything about the Crystal Apple awards, maybe someone else would know. However, the reason they say that they talk to the missionaries a lot is that even though missionaries are sent off to different places, they are also around areas with mormons as well. For instance, I live in a place with a lot of mormons, and yet we still see the missionaries walking around places, and we talk to them occasionally. They sometimes show up to our ward meetings. Some missionaries go far away to convert, and others stay close by to convert, either way though they are happy doing their duty.

And yes, it is very frustrating that we as Mormons are often targeted with rude comments and such. However, you eventually just learn to shrug it off. I don't mind talking about different things concerning my religion with non-Mormons. If they make fun of me, Oh well, at least I tried right?

A Mormon is someone who belongs to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We believe in the Bible and the Book of Mormon (a book that talks about the people in the Americas during bibical times). We believe in God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost as three seperate people. I don't think those apple awards have anything to do with mormons. xD I'm not really sure what that's about.

Missionaries aren't always at far off places. They'res usually missionaries wherever mormons are. They have to be taught by someone, don't they?

Were they talking about you talking to the missionaries, or them talking to the missionaries? If it was you, they probably want you to learn more about us. :3 If it was them, then that's probably because they're friends with the missionaries or something. xD Not sure what you're asking there.

Yes we do believe in god, but it's a whole religion, not just believing in god. If you don't know what a mormon is, you can't possibly be one.
