I'm back.
On one of the other web sites I was on, we had a LDS reading group. There was this anti-mormon that was mean to us. I've had to deal with before, it not fun and I don't like to fight.

Hello, I come from a Muslim/Catholic family and I'm interested in any other kinds of religion. I really like your thread, as were I come from there are not many Mormons and when I wanted to learn more about your religion I was confronted with those horrifying rumours already mentioned here. I think it's very important to clarify such things in any kind of belief...no one likes it when their religion is insulted.

So I have a question. You don't need to answer if you feel offensed by it or if I, as I am not Mormon, am not allowed to know the answer. You said you believe in what the Book of Mormon tells you about what happened in Americas in Biblical times. Does it differ much of what historicans might say or does it focus more on the spiritual history of the country?

Thanks and again sorry if I'm too curious and offended you accidentially.

In the book of Mormon it says two records were created, a spiritual record and a historical record. What the Book of Mormon contains in the spiritual record. I'm not the very best at explaining this and if you need more explanation on this subject or want to learn more. Try visiting Mormon.org or/and talking to our missionaries.

Hope that helps!

I like you, you aren't offensive in the least. xD

I'm not perfectly clear with the Book of Mormon, but...

XD I always do like to read about religions XD

Most of the rumors I never believed to begin with, they're just too ridiculous. I was told, very convincingly, that dancing wasn't allowed. My source is usually correct, but apparently this time she was wrong XD good thing too. I'd feel sad for people who aren't allowed to dance.

Oh, and I officially love you for being a Buffyer =3

I love Chocolate! But mostly when it is combined with peanut butter. =D

Yep, love to dance. (Just not inappropriately) I go to school dances and stake dances as well. A stake (in case you don't know) is a group of wards. A ward is an organized group of who meets together on Sunday and for other Church activities. Members of the ward are then broken up into smaller groups depending on age. Such as I am in Young Women (ages 12-18)
A lot of what people hear about our restrictions are not true. A few that are true are we don't drink Coffee or Tea, (and don't have a hard time living without it) and we try not to spend money on Sundays.

I also love chocolate...to be honest, I eat far too much of it... :D :D

But thanks for answering my question! That really helped me understand a bit more. Think I'm going to visit the website you told me.
