Note: The rumors that we have camp down in Texas are not true. There is a FLDS camp down in Texas and they are a break off the LDS (Mormon) church. We are also commonly confused with the RLDS church. (they are now known as the Community of Christ.)

argg the reason for the other "omg is it true" is because of that guy who has his own heard of Mormon...followers?

he makes them live on a giant compound/camp/community

in a classic, old timey way

men can have and are encuraged to have many wives, as it makes their celesitral family/kingdom/what not better

women have to wear dresses and play the classic woman's gender role

some girls are married off to older men. i guess leving no "we were childhood friends and got married" like other people do
i think it is supposed to be a low-key life.

and i guess so you really belive in golden tablets and "American Indians are the lost tribe of Israel"

I read the National Geographic article on the FLDS (FUNDAMENTALIST Latter Day Saints) and they seem to enjoy it. I read that one of a man's wives happily welcomed a new wife into the family and they are now fast friends. Not that I approve of the lifestyle, but still.
