I think the egg thing goes for most relgions that beleive in Jesus (I can't think of the word for some reason), right? I know we've talked about in CCD a few times, and my family is catholic. (I'm not, but I still have to learn about it)

Anyways, I have another question.
How much do Marmons vary in their beleifs? I mean like some Catholics will possibly throw a bible at you if you say God doesn't exist and very strongly beleive in everything the bible says, while others are more like, "Yeah, I think God's up there," and are a lot more relaxed about their relgion. Would the same go for a Mormon? And to what extent?

Well, as far as I know, we're a pretty relaxed religion, but every religion has its superbelievers...

We do not drink caffeinated beverages, take unprescribed drugs, drink beer, etc. Chocolate is acceptable. We oppose Gay Marriage. (Don't think we oppose Gays in general. Love is love, people are people)

We build our religion on the Book of Mormon and the Thirteen Articles of Faith.

I have a sister who claims to be aethiest so I'm kind of relaxed and yet very religous.

I would not make a good Mormon. XD

@ wib: From what I've seen, there's a fair amount of variation - most Mormons I know are completely ordinary apart from having an awful lot of half-siblings, and they don't get in people's faces about their religion at all, but there are also a few that are a little out there (like the one with the Easter egg story - she said Easter eggs represent the rock in front of the tomb that rolled aside, because eggs roll, and they are painted because the rock was painted by Jesus's followers in celebration of his rising, or something along those lines). The Mormons around my place are very popular because they're known for being hard workers who actually pay attention to rules and safety stuff, take a lot of care and pride in their work and machinery, show up to work on time and don't allow any slack, and never call off 'sick' (aka hungover). The majority of them live in town just like anyone else, and overall they're really nice people, and others tell their daughters "You should find a nice Mormon boy and get married". XD For many of them here, the actual faith part of their religion doesn't seem very important - it's the clean living and strong work ethic that they're encouraged to maintain over all.

My oldest sister converted her husband.

I know plenty who do drink caffeine. It's not very common, but it's a standard I follow. My Math Teacher had a bunch of Mountain Dew for when she got migraines.

I have had Caffeine before. But we just shouldn't drink it all the time. Really we don't drink Coffee or Tea. We are told by the Word of Wisdom that we shouldn't. That's why I don't.

Then does that mean you're supporting a lifestyle where gay people potentially have sex out of wedlock? Is that preferable to Mormons, and why? And if you propose to have nothing against gay people and be fully accepting of their ways (that's how I read "love is love and people are people", stop me if there are strings attached to that statement) why do you support something that ensures that they only have second class rights in regard to marriage? If love is love and people are people, should all people not have the freedome to be able to express their love in the same ways? Most religions I've come up against regard marriage as the highest act of love...but by your point gay people are forbidden from expressing this highest act...

We believe marriage is between a man and a woman.

We oppose sex out of wedlock as well. Sorry for the confusion.

So then how can you say that love is love and people are people? By your conditions homosexuals are alowed to hang out and maaaaybe hold hands, but they can't consumate their love or attraction. It should be love is love [if it's conventional heterosexual love] and people are people [provided one of those is a biological male and the other is a biological female]. That statement should be said with no strings attached, not with hidden conditions built in by religions following old population growth laws (you do take stuff from the Torah and Christian Bible, yes? Is Mormonism as continuation like Islam is?).

I don't think any religions endorse sex out of wedlock, so you're [arguably :D] in good company there.

Has any genetic research shown that the Native Americans have any link to biblical Israelites? I personally don't have to worry about sending DNA to any mitochondrial family mapping, because I know that I fit very snugly in the Ashkenazi Jew line, but far as I know the Native Americans do not display micochondrial DNA similarities to people from the biblical Middle East, which would discount the theory that they are a lost tribe.
