the pointlessness of school.

you go to school every day for four-teen years of your life, yes we all know this. then while your there you learn things, so many useless things and some useful but who needs to learn how to disect frogs and other beautiful creatures of nature. ITS IN HUMANE! also makeing us take "gym" wont help us either sciences that we don't even need to know, we just learn about genes, organs, and bones the only time we need math is when we are dealing with money its stupid it just make ushate the school system even more. i don't get the point of running around a large area for exercise, just let us keep our "recess" we'll be fine fresh air is good for the learning environment. but then again who truthfully wants to be there? i don't. what are your opinion on school and how do you view it? i just find it completely useless

Math is useless?

How can you count beats in music? How are you going to make sure everyone gets a piece of pizza? Keshkesh would not be happy to see herself getting a little piece. >:c

Stare at your computer. No seriouly, do it. How could it be made without school?
Stare at your food. How could it be made without school?
Stare at your bed. How could it be made without school?

Ah, I see school doesn't help you learn proper grammar and spelling.

Ayup, I agree. Because everything we do revolves around maths without us noticing, not just money.

Besides, all the subjects that the school provide us few 'previews' of certain jobs that we may want to pursue. For example, learning about human body parts will provide a useful information for those that wants to be doctors, or dissecting frogs for those that wants to be a veterinarian.

Schools aren't pointless, they help us to survive when we become adults by providing us education. With no education, how would the doctors know what type of illness does the patient have? How would builders know how to build a house if they can't measure or count?

This. (You should pay better attention in English class and learn some spelling and grammar. You'll receive more respect from people you interact with on the Internet. ^u^)

You won't necessarily use everything you learn in math, but what you learn in math class will teach you how to think, and to problem solve, which is an important skill in the real world. It's the same thing with going to the gym and working out: you don't work out because you think that someone's going to stop you on the street and say "gimme twenty," or anything like that-- you would spend that time to get fit. There are other analogies that could be applied here, but I think that's the one that fits best (besides- it does apply to the fact that you take gym class, too :P).

However, I do agree that sometimes the school system doesn't go about doing it's job the right way, but you're not really bargaining from a position of strength, so I don't think you really have a right to complain about this. Stay in school. You'll realize one day that you need it. ^-^

Forgive me if I sound harsh- I don't mean to be. x3;

1. People may want to be biologists or something when they are older, and need to learn about animal's organs in some way.
2. We need Maths for a lot of things. It's one of those things in life that you are never going to escape no matter how hard you try.
3. 'Recess' or whatever they call it in other countries is NOT enough to get the exercise the human body needs to stay healthy. Exercise can reduce the risk of certain diseases, such as Heart Disease. Too much is bad, but a person should get plenty of exercise if they want to maintain a healthy lifestyle and live to an older age.

School is necessary to teach people how to cope in the growing world. It can help us achieve our goals, rather than us just ending up staring blankly at a TV at home or getting some dead-end/horrible job that we don't want to do. It helps us be successful in life.

True, I hate school at times, but I also love it because I know it's helping me achieve my goals and it's gonna help me in life.

as i said that's my opinion. I am going to finish school, of course. this was just to vent. its finals week and I'm rather stressed at the moment. yes math is necessary, i know we need for more then use of money. I'm not completely stupid math is also need to help in graphic arts and animation. which is the field that kind of fits into what I'm going to do when i get out of school. science yes it is all well to know how your body functions. and gym yes it helps you with being healthy but so does eating well which a lot of people i know don't do but I'm working my hardest. so please forgive me if my post upset you I am only human. I feel the need to vent, so i shall.

Indeed somethings are somewhat useless, like the history of some unknown country, but they aren't teaching you the difficult math and stuff because it's practical....it's so you can exercise your brain. Every subject is practical in their own ways:

~~Language Arts: Proper grammar and spelling will help you get a job and understand the world around you better. It's also handy to leran greek morphemes and latin roots.

~~Math: Money money money, tech, science

~~Science: It's good to understand the world around us. Science also explains "why" somethings happen.

~~Social Studies: Everyone should know where they are on this earth and the history of their land.

~~Fancy colorsss!
