It's less because everyone hates nyan cat, it's more because so many people can't stop talking about it and annoy others.
I like nyan cat and it's funny and so on, but everything about it is getting overused, from pictues to simply saying nyan every time in every post and nonstop.

That makes other people who aren't as good feel like they need to stop drawing because they must REALLY suck.
