My dad has suddenly seemed to become unreasonable towards me. Like I posted here yesterday, he said "money doesn't grow on trees" when I wanted a Starbucks, and then proceeded to buy my brother a video game.
This morning, we were eating breakfast. We were sitting at the counter on these rotating chairs, and every time my brother moves the chair it bumps my elbow (once causing me to spill milk all over myself). So I complained to my dad, and he said, "You should be more careful next time." Careful? But how can I avoid it? The counter is only so large and I eat breakfast there every day, never eating anywhere else.
Just now I was talking about how I wanted some of the chocolate chips my mom was using to bake cookies. My mom said no, with good reasons, and I said, "Okay" (but I really wanted one). My dad just happened to be there and he said, "Yeah, you shouldn't eat chocolate chips because it'll be too many calories for you." I was like, "..."....my mom just told me that.
While I'm at it, he loves to use stereotypes, and tries to always find the negative side in anything (e.x. Oh, wow! Those people are lucky to have BMWs (as they are expensive cars from what I know). Dad: "Yeah, they're probably all used and have lots of problems, and the people who drive them are so stupid." (No offense to any BMW drivers out there, because I don't think that's true.)")
I love my dad so much, but...I simply don't understand.
