I think the wolf as a fursona thing may have started with A. the fact that Avian's a wolf, B. the fact that the main pets of the site are wolves/dog or C. a few users had wolf fursonas, than tons of people copied them, so now the word "fursona" seems to mean "wolf."

Wolves aren't really easy to draw, if you're drawing them with correct anatomy and everything.

Wolves are fairly easy to draw for me compared to a lot of animals.
I can barely draw horses despite the fact that I've been drawing them since I was five, but I started drawing wolves two years ago and I can draw them fairly well. So I'd say that wolves are easier than many other animals are.
But just being easier to draw doesn't mean that a fursona has to be a wolf.
On another site when I first made checkers someone messaged me and told me that your fursona had to be a wolf and that I was stupid for having something ugly like a zebra. That little idiot got a ten paragraph essay about the definition of a fursona and why I was a zebra and not a stupid little gloom dog. (You should've seen that person's "fursona"...>.<) They never replied, so i'll take that as a victory. =D

Wolves have always been easy for me to draw. So now all my weasels/foxes look 100 percent wolf. Meh…
Just because your fursona doesn't look like a normal animal (i.e. a normal gray squirrel) doesn't make it a sparkledog.
