Oh. So does that mean I have a sparkledog? omigosh...i didn't even realize...

Just having a fursona with unnatural colors does not make a sparkledog.
A sparkledog:
-is usually an impossible hybrid of a bunch of random animals
-has an excessive amount of peircings
-has a lot of human hair
-is usually so colorful and color-clashing that it makes you want to put out your eyes
-sometimes has some human stuff; like ipods, computers, etc
-has TONS of accessories
-very often has wings
-is happy, bubbly, and totally optimistic in temperament; in other words, it's personality is a mary sue
-is often splattered with rainbows

I so agree in this. Sometimes people don't even know the definition of fursona, and just think it's a cool word for character. I originally had two wolves named Kyunobi and Destiny, they were my abolute main characters, and they both were a little of me, but i soon realized that they weren't me, so now i have a actual fursona:

Bongo came to me, well 'it' just came to me instantly. When i reasearched them more, they seemed more and more like me: kinda boring apperance, both genders have horns, they are very hidden, adn live in small groups^^

Wolves are fairly easy to draw for me compared to a lot of animals.
I can barely draw horses despite the fact that I've been drawing them since I was five, but I started drawing wolves two years ago and I can draw them fairly well. So I'd say that wolves are easier than many other animals are.
But just being easier to draw doesn't mean that a fursona has to be a wolf.
On another site when I first made checkers someone messaged me and told me that your fursona had to be a wolf and that I was stupid for having something ugly like a zebra. That little idiot got a ten paragraph essay about the definition of a fursona and why I was a zebra and not a stupid little gloom dog. (You should've seen that person's "fursona"...>.<) They never replied, so i'll take that as a victory. =D

Wow, some people are really stupid. Now I must resist the urge to know their website and screen name so I can send them rude messages...
Wolves have always been easy for me to draw. So now all my weasels/foxes look 100 percent wolf. Meh…
Just because your fursona doesn't look like a normal animal (i.e. a normal gray squirrel) doesn't make it a sparkledog.

And that is why i didn't include the name of the site in my post. ;D

I love your fursona. I'm very mad because I didn't make him up.
And honestly, your fursona doesn't have to be a wolf. That's just...stupid. The definition of a fursona (in my opinion) is what represents you, not a wolf that wears your cloths/has your hair/has sparkles... you get the idea.

If you're trying to draw a new species, try to draw realistically first, then you can stylize it.

I don't think anybody should draw in someone else's style. I.E. Disney style, Ginga Style, ETC. ETC. It's just lack of personality/originality.
Everybody has there own style inside, it's just a matter of finding it. x]

As for characters always being wolves, to me that's just a really annoying trend. Not everybody's personality fits a wolf, but some do. Definitely not as many people as they claim match wolves.
If I had a fursona, it would be a domestic dog breed of some sort. Probably a Shiba since my personality is a lot like a Shiba personality.
I'm definitely not like a wolf. And many people aren't. The problem is, they claim to be.

Nice doggies! I like them. Too bad this plane of existence is so limited in species to find enough material for imagination. But what do I know? I'm just happy to be a run-of-the-mill fairy.
