I've seen way too many wolf fursonas.

Honestly, when you are making a fursona, you should think about if the animal actually suits you. Wolves are loyal, brave and work well in a team, but they need to have others around. So having a wolf as a fursona and saying you are a loner and an outcast from society used to be original.... but now about 90 percent of wolf-fursona people are loners.
Now for sparkledogs. A sparkledog is what happens when people try to hard to be original and end up with a rainbow wolf/dog/fox covered in random accessories and equipped with a bunch of awesome powers. They get tiresome after a while. However, a red blue and green wolf with a bandana and bracelets isn't nessacarily a sparkledog. But I digress.
A fursona is supposed to be YOU. Not a perfect representation of yourself, but YOU.
My fursona is a weasel fox... yeah, a weird specie I made up. She wears flight goggles but has no wings... it sounds kinda emo when you analyze it, but thats just me. I haven't decided on color or markings, and maybe I'll post a practice pic later. However, I used to be a wolf until I realized that wasn't who I was. I'm not particularly loyal. Foxes are so overused that no one actually realises who they are. Foxes are clever and tricky animals. Weasels are also clever and fierce, but both species are rather sneaky and traitorous. Weasel+fox= Me.
So, anyone else out there who's original?

I really see your point. A lot of people agree because there's been many topics about this! ^.^

But this is a wolf site, so you can expect many wolf fursonas! If you went, say, on a Lion King fansite, you'd see TONS of lion fursonas, just about as many lions as wolves here!

A wolf is many people's favorite animal here, so most people here would like to have their favorite animal as their fursona.

I really agree with you 100%! Therefore, I have a cat fursona because the cat represents me most.

Yes there are many topics about this....now Candy is a wolf hybrid but the reason she is that is a personal one, she was a wolf hybrid long before I knew there was a glut og them and I would not want to change her.

Which is why im making my own free line art for people to use so far I have a cheetah, genet cat, shrew, tazmanian devil , and a pine martin To help people get away from the wolves...

My fursona is odd and original, at least in my eyes. I have a picture of her in anthro form buried somewhere within my DA gallery, but it's extremely outdated. I haven't drawn her in a while. *needs to remedy that*
So I guess the best I can do is bore you with a description? Maybe you'll think as I do? :3

Species: Cat. No distinctive breed, just feline.
Coat: White with dark grey stripes coming half-way up her legs, half-striped tail, and a stylized spider-shaped stripe on her back. 7 tiny diamond-like spots radiating out from her forehead, black-tipped ears with white spots in the middle of 'em. Poofy fur, but not long haired. It just tends to stick up.
Eyes: Hazel. More grey than green, most of the time.
Size: A little bit smaller than your average full-grown housecat. 3-4 pounds.
Pawpads: Dark reddish-brown back foot pads, white front foot pads.

In anthro form: Wears square-shaped glasses, has dark red hair that falls to mid back, with two long white streaks in the front. Like her creator. X3
What makes her something other than a regular cat: Battle mage with an artistic streak. Carries an oversized paintbrush with her wherever she goes, whether as a cat or as an anthro. Uses this brush in place of a magical staff; she can paint something out of thin air to make it hurt someone. (e.g. she paints a lightning bolt, enemies get hit with lightning. She paints an anvil, one falls on an enemy's head.) This evolved through an old rp, and I loved the idea, so I stuck with it.

Why it fits me: Cats are independent most of the time, but when they want to be, they are even more of a Man's Best Friend than a dog. They are loyal to those they love, but are a nightmare to those they decide to hate, if they actually can be bothered to hate someone instead of just ignoring them. Cats can fade into the background, so that no one will know they are there, but they are watching every move you make. I'm basically the same way, translated into human terms. :3

I agree whole-heartily with this. I could never see myself as a wolf or dog, anymore. :3 If I where an animal, I could easily see myself as a black cat or serval. Albeit, an odd-patterned serval; but still a serval.

Servals are domestic wild cats; and are similar to house cats, except a bit more intense. Like the serval, I have the tendency to experience emotions more intensely than the average kid. I am a bit... melodramatic, when I want to be, and can read people like open books. All of which are traits that the serval is famous for. On a physical level, they have longer legs and larger ears- both are traits that I possess. However, while servals are pretty big for a "domestic" cat, I'm short and thin. ^^;

Black cats are elegant, majestic animals with a natural grace, but often feared by those who can't see past their fur. They have been called both unlucky and lucky, depending on who you ask. Black cats- or house cats in general- can become best friends with someone only to break off from them without a second thought. They're interesting little kittens, poised and graceful, but unapproachable at the same time.

So, torn between two choices, I combined the two. :3 I think you'd really call the breed a "Savannah"; but I'd rather not have a "breed" at all. Seeing as I've never met my real parents, I don't know what I am- and neither should my "fursona". Her- my?- markings would be simple black-and-white; a charcoal underbelly, black base, with a large white phoenix tattoo on her back. :3 My tattoo is actually black in real life, but I wanted it to be visible on her fur- and she looks more like "yin" this way.
