It varies quite a bit night by night: I'd consider anything from 6 to 12 hours pretty typical for me at the moment. But I'm definitely a night owl. If I have nothing planned for the morning or early afternoon, which is fairly often, I usually end up going to bed at 3-6 in the morning, whenever I get tired or finish whatever I'm doing for the night, and getting up at 12-3 in the afternoon. I try to schedule things later in the day whenever I can and am most productive late at night when everything is dark and quiet and I can sit down and concentrate with no distractions because everyone else is asleep.
In any case, I almost always have a hard time getting up, and unless I actually have someplace I urgently need to be, it's pretty much impossible to get me out of bed before my body finally decides it's ready time to wake up. Especially early in the morning, even if I'd had a decent amount of sleep. When I had to catch the school bus every morning, I would very predictably get up about 10 minutes before it was supposed to arrive (fortunately the bus stop was right in front of my house, so I could run out the door at the very last minute if need be) and scramble like crazy to get the essentials done because hitting the snooze button was finally not an option anymore. Not a routine I would recommend by any means, not really all that fun, but yeah, I'm so not a morning person ... xD
