The fandom is big everywhere, it's just harder to find some people more than others XD I mean, I thought MD/DC had a TINY fur community when I first got into the fandom. Now I see that I just needed to look! I've met at least 100 furs in MD/DC now, and some of them have become some of my closest friends! And you don't always have to go looking for furs. Sometimes you just stumble upon them XD For example, once I was browsing art books and werewolf books in the bookstore and I was wearing my Anthrocon 2010 shirt. I was approached by a guy who looked to be a few years older than me and he said "OMG A FURRY!!" We talked for awhile after that ^^

And Ferarri, I don't suggest furring that head yet. The beak has almost no definition and your head will end up looking like a blob unless you shape it more.

I know my metro area alone has upwards of 320+ (we're growing like wildfire). Not sure who has the biggest, though.

i think beastly means groups. some furs refer to groups as packs. i dont really know wwhere the biggest groups are. i just recently found out about a few furs in my area so there must be more. although the first furs i ever met IRL was at oklacon...
