Fursuit Thread

my paernts think being a furry is kinda strange but my dad is pretty supportive. he even said we will try to make it to oklacon this year.
I think most of my friends know i am a furry. well im pretty sure everyone in my homeschool group knows i am a furry XD
i am always drawing anthros and stuff and wearing my tail and paws and have even worn my old fursuit a few times.

I'm pretty open about it and people either think its weird, awesome or just kinda go, "uh-hu, yeah, thats cool." then change the subject. A couple of my friends (not furries...yet) have asked how much i would charge for a tail and if i would make them one <3

Cool. I wore my head to hat day one time and some paws then dressed not like i normally would but neck dog tag necklace aparently gave me away. Everyone knew who i was then XD

Thank you guys for the small animal/rodent anthro advice ^^ I've got rats, rabbits and all sorts of pet rodents so I'll take into account those tips and try looking hard at my pets as well to help me. When i have a finished result I'll show you all.

Also, at the Melbourne Show (like a huge fair/carnival if you've never heard of it), they had ear hats with the paws and such. I found a leopard hat, it's so cute and was only $10. It has like paw pads and everything, I'll have to get some pictures for you guys.

My mom can be like that too. Once she yelled at me for always drawing not-real things and saying I was supposed to draw classical art and stuff because THAT is art. No, mom. Art is what the mind recreates on a canvas and is made Not just a drawing of some fruit. Pfff.

Oh, cool, i'm looking forward to seeing those pics, then! Awww, and you shouldnt've torn it! D: That's too bad, i'm sure it was adorable, no matter what your mom says.

My dad has done that, One I drew Connor chewing a marshmellow and he was like... "What the... Is that a monkey?" I was hurt >.<

Yeah, I have an art class like that, I can ONLY draw real things, otherwise I don't get a good grade. So I don't get much freedom with my own drawings, even if I do, and my mom sees them sh critizies them..

I have now discovered that I fail absoluetly at Anthros. I'd love to see some anthro art if anyone has some or links to your charecters that'd be great. Also ill try to start a small conversation.

What non animal charecteristics do you give to your charecters that aren't your own?

Boobs. xP Heh, i'm a flat-chesty over here but most of my characters, other than my two sonas, are not so flat x)
Hmmm...I give them pretty long hair a lot of the time, but I tend to not let mine be very long for too long. Honestly, my fursonas are the only charries I have that have many of the same characteristics as me. xD I even give Mimi glasses some of the time! Or an eyepatch on her right eye because that is my worse eye. And Venus and Mimi tend to dress like me, except Mimi wears more my everyday clothes and Venus wears cute little dresses and stuff that I love to wear but don't that often. Hmm...I could make a big list of characters with no characteristics of my own, really! xD

Haha. I usually make mine alot like me too. Most of my charecters are tall and stand out. I do vary on their personalities though. Take My 7 legged fursona for example. Hes fun and loves freinds. pretty average while my charecter Kari is always the odd one out. She likes to out do everyone. She will be the first one to do anything. My bull is kind of the party pooper. Always keeping everyone out of trouble.

Most of my charecters wear what I wear. I have made one or two that wear complete costumes everyday. like cosplaying only not fully and it's their own.

My eyes and other charecteristics vary too. I make my ears all different because I always tend to want to give them one type of ear. Some are tall and thin. Some are wolf like and fat with a point. Some are curved like a lions. Even horns and horse ears sometimes.

Why would anyone really need to know that you're furry, though? 0.o
I mean, it's just a goofy subculture thingy, it's not like you're "coming out" or anything. Furries are people who like human-like animals and [some of them] dress up as animals. And people who obviously have a pretty bad reputation. Can somone please explain to me what's so incredibly important about it? I'm definately missing something here.
I mean, if you're going to get upset that people give you odd looks/make fun of you for it, you shouldn't have said anything in the first place. Same for how people always come here and whine that some kids laughed at them for wearing a tail. If you're going to flaunt it, be it a tail or telling everyone, don't be surprised when people don't automatically accept it.
I can't understand why you'd wear a tail to school anyways, seems like it would just get in the way. I plan on wearing my fox tail on Halloween since we're allowed to wear non-distracting "mini-costumes," as the principal calls the, but that's about it.
/rant [sorry, one thing I don't like about the fandom xD]

As for the question thing-a-ma-bob;
Hmm... I dunno? I like trying to give them their own personalities and I've been messing around with making little cartoons and animations, so I guess they're a little more expressive. My characters are a lot different than I am, animal or human. Only feather is similar, and that's because she's my fursona.
