I'm too much of a stick in the mud, I haven't entirely planned out my story yet so I'm not gonna word war this time. But you guys can use this chatroom to NaNo (to start word wars more easily) if you want.

Oh, awesome. I'm on there with my CS user, so you guys can recognize me easily xD

*Substracts numbers*
Ha! Better than the first one! 432.

I'm... slightly more statisfied now.
*stares at finished dream scene*

Uh, my mom interrupted me, too. She wastalking to me, but I was wearing a headset, so I didn't understand a word, lol.
Just signaled her with one hand that I'm typing. I think she understands... sort of.
I explained NaNo to her earlier the day ^^

Right, guys, I'm going to take a break. I'm still working towards my 15,000 goal though! 774 words to go!

However, reality intrudes. School tomorrow. I'll try to get on later tonight ;)

Good luck with goals and wars!

...Hoooh. Now this is fascinating :D
To think that Austria challenged us to do a region war... *snickers* Although that one is running on slightly different calculations.

I'm starting to love the NaNo forums, by the way n.n
The typo thread on our regional one is awesome. *still giggles at several autocorrect accidents and the like*

Also... now I know there are many book series where this is totally happening/has happened but... would it be okay, or too awkward, to have two characters date each other when they're 12 years apart in age?
The younger one is roughly 23 years old...
I dunno. I'm torn between allowing them to be in a relationship or let her fall in love with him, but him not returning the feelings / friendzoning her.
The characters say they're okay with both. Now... ugh. Decisionsss~
It is, by the way, not relevant to the outcome of the plot. It'll end the same, no matter whether those two will stay friends or become lovers.
Asking for opinions here; I've never written a couple with such a difference in age.
I'm feeling like the friendzoning option would be more beneficial to my word count...

Go with whatever you want. Just realize that in-universe, it would probably be seen as kind of weird.

Well, the universe of the story is a different one. I don't know if it'd be weird there or not.
I have no clue. Probably, but my main problem is that I have no idea how to write them as a couple. There will be a few problems related to their age, I'd guess. After all, he's a good number of years older. He has experienced more of the (very important) history, and... well, I'm wondering what the differences would be. It's easy to write them on their own, but as soon as i start thinking about how they'd act as a couple things get confusing. How much more mature is a 35-year-old man compared to a 23-year-old woman?

Can't go to bed anyway now. Pound opening. /priorities
Oh well, school starts at 9am for me today, so I can stay up a little bit longer... right...? xD

A lot of people in their early twenties are still searching for themselves, experiencing life, but by the time you're in your mid-thirties like that you already know who you are and are just living life. These are broad generalizations, but that should help.

This does fail the half plus seven rule of creepiness. (The rule is that you can date someone younger than you without it being creepy if their age is no less than half your age plus seven. I have no idea who made that rule up, or of it applies in all cultures or whatever), but if they have undergone something traumatic together it might be a bit more acceptable to an audience in terms of, I dunno, believability.
