I don't really have a favorite author, I'm fine with all authors as long as they write in the genres I like XD. I am not picky with authors but I really only read ghost stories or stories about corrupted futures. I do love the books Incarceron and Sapphique though I forgot the author's name (I sometimes read a book then never look at the name of the person who wrote it).

When I myself am personally speaking, I tend to use more obscure words, but being surrounded by my friends has modified my way of speaking a bit. Like, they'll use, of course, more common words, and then I'll subconsciously (yes I spelled that right the first time XD, I've always had to correct myself when spelling subconscious) begin talking like them.
Am I the only one who does that?
It happens with accents too XD If I'm around someone extremely country, I'll start talking with a slight country accent, if around someone from the ghettos, I'll end up saying inadvertently hilarious things in a ghetto accent.

I've always had a weird way of speaking XD And my favorite thing to say is 'Obfuscating Stupidity'.
But in YA books however, I believe, if there's a more common word you can use, its usually the better choice, because it will just sound more natural and less like faux intelligence.
Then again, it depends on the character. I've had characters that would be the type to say obfuscating stupidity, and ones that would say it just to look smart XD

-continues digging through the pages I missed while I was sleeping-

My favorite author right now would probably be Rachel Ward. I love her book, Num8ers. It's amazing <3 I love how, even though you know for a fact this one character is going to die in like a week (the main character sees the dates people die when she looks in their eyes), you still can't help falling in love with him and being surprised and actually genuinely sad when he dies </3
Spideeer D:
But yeah. It was the first book that actually made me cry, and I make a habit of reading ultra depressing books XD
I've read most of the Dragonriders of Pern books, I think all the main ones and some of the offshoot ones. They're pretty good XD I remember reading the first book in fourth grade and going LOLWUT and having to reread it because apparently small crowded font confuses me XD Someone gave me a really tiny paperback version and I had four days to read it so I had to go fast ;3;
I liked the Uglies series, it was delightful enough in its own, though not my favorite.
I actually checked out Leviathan when I got like, twelve books from the library on Halloween XD I have yet to read it, since I've been doing Nano, but if I just had five hours I could prolly finish it XD I read a bit fast

I got horribly sick during week two, which is why its mostly orange and yellow :c I felt like my body was revolting D:

My favorite type of books are probably Dystopia/Post Apocalypse YA novels XD Though I love just about every YA novel I've read so far. I dunno, I guess I like how snappy they are XD

The only real thing I hate about YA novels are when really old people write them, and the kids are saying things like "Rad" XD That's actually a bit of a bad example, but you know what I mean. The teens don't talk like teens :c

Anywhosadiddly, off to my online class that I should be doing right now XD I have an essay to finish before next period because I was doing NaNo instead XD

If I had to choose, I would say Anne Mcaffery! I <3 her! I have read the Harper Hall Trilogy 5 times (Currently re-reading them, so almost 6) and I still cry every time I get to the part where shes beaten for accidently transitioning into her own song, and my heart always races whenever she tries to outrun the thread, even though I already know whats gonna happen </3 I doubt I really write like her, but I wish I did. :)
PS- check this out to see who you really write like!

Same here! You don't need to be the same genre or anything, its just your style and technique :) YOu can put in other writing and see who else you get!

Oh gosh! The first time I pasted anything into the box it said I write like Chuck Palahniuk, whoever that is...
The second time (I used a different block of text) it said I write like Ursula K. Le Guin ... I still don't know the person.
The third time (another block of text) it said I write like Harry Harrison. I don't know that person.
And the fourth and final time (used my most recent paragraphs) it said I write like Neil Gaiman, which I only know because you all mentioned him. XD
All my pets prior to 2021 will be available for trade as I wish to start fresh. :)

That is so cool!! That site is awesome! I got James Joyce, who I didn't know, so I looked him up and Wikipedia:

Wikipedia wrote:... was an Irish novelist and poet, considered to be one of the most influential writers in the modernist avant-garde of the early 20th century. Joyce is best known for Ulysses (1922), a landmark work in which the episodes of Homer's Odyssey are paralleled in an array of contrasting literary styles, perhaps most prominently the stream of consciousness technique he perfected.

I feel so cool :3 Must go read some of his work and see if we do indeed have a similar style. I'm gonna put another story in and see if I get another result, since I change my writing style depending on what I'm doing.
