Honestly, the entirety of yesterday. We had a 48-hour play festival for school, but only 12 hours were devoted to blocking and memorizing before we showed.
~I was cast in an awesome play as a serial killer clad in a cardboard suit. I had to jump through a door and shout "HEYO!" really menacingly. Well, the door we were using was a standalone door on wheels, so it had two planks supporting it. Anyways, during a break, I stood on those planks, shoved open the door, and yelled "HEYO." My director, who'd been talking with the playwright, jyst sighed and said "she's having way too much fun with her role"
~Scottish accents. 'Nuff said.
~The fact that a friend of mine was essentially cast as army-recruit Shaggy.
~I put a hole in my leg when I tried to jump and fail, which resulted in muscular and nervous malfunctions as well as going into shock. That wasn't fun, but the fact that people genuinely cared that I survived was pretty great. They were checking in on me throughout the day, making sure I had ice, pain meds, bandages, and help moving around. A friend of mine found a crutch and helped me adjust it to my height. He wanted me to use it on stage, but I wasn't allowed to.
~While moving around on my crutch, I tried to steal 'Shaggy's' hat. He walked away and I yelled "I will fight you, defective leg and all!" He turned around and yelled back "I know you will!"
So, I am no longer really playing. I am sticking around to collect pets which I will exchange for art. Please only contact me about art or if you need some advice or a listening ear.
