The fact that I have to go to my Grandma and Grandpa McIntires' on Thursday. Ergh, those people are seriously getting crazier by the minute. My grandma doesn't even know how old I am. The last time we saw each other she thought I was 7!

@Brute: Oh, no no, it's not a recognition issue. ^^; I have no want for fame, I just want to create.
I didn't enter the contest- I'm not even enrolled in that high school. {Home schooled.} It just kind of... caught me at a bad time. I'm a little worried about upcoming applications to various art schools- I keep thinking that I'm not going to be good enough, of that I'll fail at keeping up...

I know, I know; the basis of art is creativity. It's just that... I have a hard time getting my ideas down on paper- and making them good enough for my own standards, and those of others around me. I want to improve because I want to do justice to my ideas and inspirations- I want to draw because I love it. I just have a hard time with it, getting my hands to move the way I want them to, so I push myself very hard in hopes that I'll be able to even hold a candle to what inspires me.

I don't know if it's a jealousy thing, or if it's just a projection of my frustration onto these girls, but whatever it is... I really need to get a hold on it. It's rather unflattering, isn't it? ^^;

Annoyance: Running out of compliments in a compliment contest

Ffff. Okay. A little art rant ahead~
There's a small gallery in town that hosts lots of art shows and things of that nature; this month, they decided to scour the highschool for "fresh, new talent" and to showcase "the future of art". Three girls where chosen out of about seventy students.
Alright, nothing bad so far, right? Except, I know these girls- they're of the I-don't-have-to-practice-anatomy/realism/other medias-because-my-style-is-unique-and-don't-you-dare-critique-it-because-it's-special variety.

Now I understand having a certain style and sticking by it, but you need to learn how to construct before you deconstruct! Sticking to one particular thing without knowing even the basics of others is bound to be disastrous; if not now, then soon. And all this month people have been fawning over their art like it's a work of absolute genius while all I see are flaws and repetitiveness. {Which makes me sad, because I'm sure they have their good points! I just can't see them.}
It makes me think, too, that all of this practice that I've been forcing on myself lately is for... nothing. If these girls can get gallery showings without putting any sort of effort into improving what they have or studying the human body, then why on Earth do I have to try so hard? I really, really want to improve my art- but sometimes I just think it's all a bit pointless. ._.;
{Someone, please, just give me a good hit to the head and tell me I'm being an idiot. D:}

Have to agree there. It's like splatter paint. Tell me again, why are people paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for a large canvas of random colors?

I'm annoyed by homework... especially on a holiday week. >.< Please, give me a break already.

How I'm never hungry, but never full, either. ._.
During the school week, I don't eat for 24-hour periods, because I don't have enough time for breakfast and I don't eat lunch, then I eat dinner at 2:30 or so, and I never get hungry.
But when I do eat a lot, like sometimes on the weekends, I never get full. I have the apetite of a horse, and can eat several plates of food without getting full. xD
I normally don't eat that much, though, since I gain weight really easily, although, no matter how much I eat, I always stay underweight. Even when I eat all day, I don't even come close to the weight I should be at. :\
