I want to go to a haunted house (or even work at one!), but I'm afraid that it will make my heart go wonky. D: I have a mild heart murmur, and when I'm scared I sometimes feel my heart missing beats, it's very unnerving. D: But I love being scared. :I

I had a heart murmur when I was younger. My mom said that it went away a few years ago though

I developed my heart murmur. It's because I probably have a slightly enlarged heart, like my older and younger brothers do. It's genetic, and it was expected.

Dear dogs,

Why must you be scared of the vacuum, even when it's not on! If I just pull the hose out, you freak out...

Love,
Starry

Television and the media has desensitized us to this kind of stuff. Movies make it appropriate to joke about it. -shrugs- Not everyone finds the humour tasteful, of course, but it's like that with everything. I guess if you joke about it it makes the rather icky reality of puberty less awkward.

We're just becoming more comfortable with ourselves, that's how I see it. x: Years ago people had their dirty jokes, which are nothing now, but they seemed really dirty back then. And when you mix a bunch of kids with each other during the onslaught of puberty, stuff goes crazy. xD Maybe I'm just biased because those things don't bug me very much and kids in middle school were big silly joke. (As opposed to back then when I thought they were a decent measure of society and actually thought I could hold standards to them while I was there. x: )

I'm so glad I don't live in that world.
