TYPE OF QUESTION: Math
YOUR QUESTION: so I have this thing and I am not really sure
(2x-3)7-(x-2)6-(5x+6)2=26-(3x-4)4+3(6x-5)
Now I have 14x-21 but I am not sure what's next bc technically it's -1*(x-2)*6 [etc] but idk D:

-1*(x-2)*6 is the same as -1 * 6 * (x-2) as multiplication can be done in any order (eg 5*6 is the same as 6*5).
From there you can hopefully see that you can simplify this to -6 * (x-2) and continue from there :)

Thank you, it was a while I that I did the last time math :')

Hello everyone! I have a science experiment for school, and I haven't been able to get as many responses as I'd like to it. If you could help me by taking one of these polls, I'd really appreciate it! Should take about two minutes if you decide to take it. Thank you so much to everyone who helps!

I HAVE A QUESTION!
TYPE OF QUESTION: math (functions)

YOUR QUESTION: if f(2) = 3 and g(1) = 3, determine the value of f-1 [g(1)]. (f-1 refers to the inverse)
i tried this and got 2 as the answer, although i'm pretty sure i'm not doing it right; thanks in advance for the help!!

Whenever you have a function inside a function, start from the inside and work your way out.

In the case of this problem, g(1) is the function on the inside, so that's the function you work with first. It's given that g(1) = 3, so you can replace g(1) into your function to obtain f-1(3).

In inverse functions, putting in your original y-value into the inverse function creates your x-value. In the case of f(x), the x-value is 2 and the y-value is 3. Therefore, putting your y-value (3) into f-1 (inverse of f(x)), creates your original x-value, 2. From f-1(3), we get the original x-value, which is 2.

So are correct. c: Hope this was helpful!
