I have both been tutored and tutored some one else before. I do neither currently though. I am looking at getting a tutor over summer vacation though.

I am proficient in mathematics and language usage as well as history. I have tutored someone in every one of these categories. My teachers asked me to because I was in the top of my class and they didn't really have time to. I was more than happy to help out, but I found the position made me unpopular among my peers. For that reason I stopped after after about a year.

I myself struggle with spelling (English) and French. In the past I was tutored in spelling, but I found it didn't help much. I don't think my tutor was very good. My parents had hired some organization to do it so that I could keep my language arts grade up, but it didn't help. When I moved into a higher grade the issue resolved itself. I'm looking at getting a French tutor because I really want to do well in the subject so I can get into a good college soon, but it hasn't been going as smoothly as I would have liked it too. For three long years I have struggled with this and it is about time I find a tutor who can help me better understand.

I'm struggling with math (always have) right now, and finally this year was able to get a tutor thanks to my parents - and I'm so glad I did. I don't know why I never got one years before; mine is very nice and she has helped me so much already! I'm currently studying Geometry, and have already been slowly but surely doing much better these past few months than I was before.

I think tutoring is great for those who can afford it, and have the time to do so. At least, it's greatly helped me! :3

I did the crappy thing to not give two giant turds about school when I was still going.
I was smart enough to do it and all, but I was hella-unmotivated.
Cause of this, parents thought to get me a tutor for a bit, and it was horrible.
Cause they treated me like a dumbass, even though I was smart and stuff; to the point I started to cry in front of them an so I cancelled the lessons.
I am on mobile.
Current mood: Casually being able to talk to the country's parliament is fascinating.

@Levi and to the people who said they had horrible tutors, same with me. I was having trouble in Uni in my first year, I struggled in some courses and it was too much pressure. So I tried to find some tutors, I also talked to some family friends and my parents about it. They signed me up to this guy who hardly gets any students to tutor with, and I know why. He never tells me the truth when I do a question wrong, I just get an answer yeah, it's okay even if I know the answer is wrong. He also always puts on the T.V when we are tutoring, and gets distracted so I usually have to give him a friendly bump on the back so he knows that I'm still here. 3 Hours everyday worth nothing, $50 each 2 weeks worth nothing. I finally stopped tutoring, but now I I seriously need a tutor but it's so hard to find a good one when most tutors only teach grades 1-12.
