When scammers call claiming to be my ISP and try to tell me I have a problem with my internet, and to just turn my computer on so "we can troubleshoot"... Me: "I don't have a home computer, just a business computer, but I'm not at work right now." Them: "Your business computer?" Me: "Yes at my business." Them: "Do you have phone number I can call there? When will you be there?" Me: "Shortly it's about 20 minutes away." Them: "What is the number?" Me: "It's [insert phone number of my local Police Station here]." Them: "Will you be there?" Me: "No I won't be there, but my employees will be one of them will answer."
I have done this soooo many times now.
Another one a while ago now claimed to be from Microsoft and that they were getting error messages from my computer, I asked "Which computer?" as we had about 4 at the time, I had a PC and Laptop which was off completely and hadn't been used in a year, and my siblings PC. When I asked "Which computer?" the person stammers out "Windows XP." I said a few choice words and hung up. All our computers had either Windows 7 or Vista.
