Tell him that! Sometimes people just aren't in a good mood, and for no apparent reason. Let him know that you weren't in a good mood already, that it has nothing to do with him, and that the hot room just kind of adds to it because of physical discomfort. It's important for him to know that it's not his fault.

Good luck! Sometimes my boyfriend is just irritated and stressed out and pissed off from work and I know it's nothing I did. And sometimes I'm just in a bad mood for whatever reason and I try to let him know that. We never fight and we are good at not taking things out on each other, but even so it's good to give someone a heads up or let them know that it has nothing to do with them. The other day I was fine with him and then I had to go take care of some things - when I got back I was super irritated and in a bad mood from some of it and I felt bad that I'd returned in a bad mood but I vented about it and let him know that I wasn't in a good mood, so we watched a show to relax. It's great having someone to cheer you up, but it's normal that they won't always be able to magically fix things.
