The new hobbit movie. I swear to god. I loved the first one and the second one, but this third one left me with a bad taste in my mouth!
Spoilers below.
What was with Kili's death scene? My favorite character. It wasn't about hsi brother, which was why he ran in, or anything else. It was about that stupid elven girl who shouldn't even exist. I hated her addition, it was just to create some ugly love triangle between her him and Legolas. Legolas was a brilliant contribution but they ruined it for me!
Then the scene with Galadriel and all of the other like high and mighty people. What was that even? She was like some monstoruous ghost creature. That made no sense to me at all. It looked like he just wanted to have all of these 'super cool' people fighting monsters and made it happen. Ugh.
Then the scene at the end with Kili dead, with Tauriel Legolas and Thranduil. What was that whole thing? With the tears and the love and invovling Legolas's mother. I swear.
The only scene that seriously touched me was the scene where Bilbo left the dwarves. They did that nearly perfect to me. Kili'sdeath was supposed to hit me in the heart, but it just left me curling my nose.
Am I too harsh of a critic of this? Is it because I expected so much more for a conclusion to this? I wanted a battle of the five armies. Instead I got scenes of 'forbidden love' and a greed-crazed human. i haven't read the book in forever, and I know he took a lot away from it, but I know the battle couldn't have happenedl ike that. Did it?
