The main characters name is Bird but it's only a nickname for Roberta I think? She doesn't speak to people but I think she can read animals minds? She rides a horse (forget his name) and lives I think as a foster kid on a farm. I think it's a mystery book.

The horse was abused and I think the book is about catching the person who abused him? not a 100% sure
EDIT: I think the horses name is the name of the book >.<
