What does malk mean on some pets? Thank you in advance

It just means the pet is from the artist Malk.
I'm not sure if Malk is still active, but they were definitely one of CS's best artists.

Malk retired in early 2012, but her spider and owl linearts were used for a good few months after that before stopping use completely. In 2013 she gave us a surprise litter, but I'm pretty sure that would be her last unless she gives us another surprise one.
