I would like to introduce a thread of mine, one that I personally love, and hope you will too! I recently asked a mod if I might add this thread to the GD forum, and, after outlining some rules, here we are! So, let me explain a thing to you:
This is a thread for telling the CS World something you wish to accomplish in your life; ie: Your biggest wish! This does not mean you sit here and post about your dream pet on CS, because that just isn't the point. CS is a game, and while it is a very good game, it means little in the grand scheme of things.
What I want you to post here are the things that you aspire to do in your life, and while they don't have to be horribly realistic, it does have to be something that 'could' happen. Keep in mind that when I say 'could' I mean that if you were given the money/power needed, you could actually do the thing.
But I want more than that. I don't just want you to post that "I want to solve world hunger", or "I want to bring about world peace", because even though those are both great things to want to do, I want to actually see that you put some thought into this idea. I want you to post how you might go about achieving your goals, I want to know why you want to achieve them in the first place.
Of course there will be basic rules, but for the most part, I really want to see what you wish to do in life, and I want everyone to be able to easily find like minded people with whom they might be able to talk to later.
1. I do not want to see any posts about CS dreamies.
That is not what this thread is here for, and you will be reported for spam.
2. While I don't expect you to write a book about it, I want details.
Don't be vague for the whole thing, give me reason to believe you can do it!
3. Please do not spam the thread. This includes posting about CS dreamies.
Of course, I also do not want you to post saying something like "Marking".
That is what the bookmark feature is for.
4. If you see someone spamming the thread, you can either let me know,
or you can simply use the little report button that is seen on each individual post.
5. To allow for open discussion about dreams and goals,
I will be making a chat room where we can talk about each others ideals freely.
6. I expect to see a minimum of at least a small paragraph when you post.
At least 4 sentences. No less.

Maybe I have been looking too much into the ideas of off ball tumblr people, but I love the idea of a library/bookstore type thing that is open at night, if not 24/7. I want people to walk through the doors of my library and come running up to me at 3am, asking me to help them find a new book to read because they just finished the one they had. The more I think about it, the more I realize that I will have to be filthy rich to do all this, but I feel like I might actually find a way some day, because it means so much to me.
Just think about it though, and try to picture it.
I almost picture a Buckingham Palace of books. But just imagine it, the second and third floor are filled with nothing but books. Floor to ceiling books. I want people to need to use ladders to reach all these books. The first floor would then need to be filled with comfy chairs and maybe cots, with plenty of tissues because sometimes you get emotional when you read.
But it needs to be so much more!
Like, the basement of the whole thing is basically a homeless shelter/run away safe haven. And the only stipulation for being allowed to stay there is you have to read at least one book per week or so.
I know it all probably sounds stupid, but this is something that I have been thinking about for a while and I just really wish I could do it!
