Any Homeschoolers Out There? c:

Postby Tip-Toe » Wed Oct 22, 2014 8:43 am

Was just curious if anyone else on here is homeschooled ^^ I only recently started and I'm absolutely loving it, and I'd love to hear about other people's experiences with homeschooling c:

I've been homeschooled since 3rd grade :3
To me it's much better for learning and your not as stressed out
about homework or anything. But for me I live out in the country
and it does make it difficult to see friends.

I'm done with school now but Homeschool was great! :3

Hello! I've been homeschooling my whole life. It's awesome to meet some more! :D I'm glad I'm homeschooled, as I definitely prefer it instead of actual, well, school! x3

I have to agree with the stress factor, yeah ^^ It's just so much easier to learn and enjoy learning when you;re not fretting over stuff! I get where you're coming from, being in a country town myself, but I guess it's worth making the extra effort to see my boyfriend, mates from school etc :3

Oh nice! Must say I find it quite preferable myself, the classroom environment really wasn;t for me, even though I was straight A's. Must be cool having done it all your life :3

I've been homeschooled my whole life too. It does make it harder to make friends and stuff seeing as you're at home all day. But yeah it is bettter, I think. ;)

I feel the same exact way! I suppose I could admit that at times I am a bit curious and almost wish I could go to school for just one day to see what it's truly like, but at the end of the day... yeah, I'll stick with homeschooling (being a total introvert myself). x3

I've been homeschooled since preschool, and I get done way earlier than kids that go to school. On good days I get done at about 12:30, and on bad ones about 2:10. I go to an enrichment each Monday, and it's 6 hours long, but it's SO MUCH FUN! There's no math, in art we get to paint a lot, and we can doodle in our notebooks and she's fine with it. (She's an art teacher, soo... :P) And the lunch runs into recess, and recess is an hour, and PE is usually really obscure yet really fun sports. In geograpy we get to color maps, and history we get to color old dead guys. (Again with the art thing.) It's basically like a one-room schoolhouse, since all ages are in one room. The downside of that is I'm in 7th grade and they're singing songs along the lines of this: Keep your sunny side up, up, up, don't let your face get long, keep your sunny side up, up, up, when things are going wrong. Get rid of that hard boiled face and crack a smile in its place... Filled with billions of awful egg puns. I made friends there as well as at my church. Most of my friends at enrichment are a couple years younger than me, though. They're all really nice, and no "populars" like at normal schools. If you're getting coddled and treated special, so is everyone else. I find that awesome.

Woah, enrichment programs sound awesome! I'm looking at finding some stuff for homeschoolers around my area or in the city where my sister lives, I;d love to find something like that ^^

I go to a homeschool co-op every Friday, and it's pretty cool. Definitely not like real school, but pretty close nonetheless. x3
