RP Rant Thread X3

I used to have a very difficult time with the fan RP's. The only time I enjoyed the was if I was actually interested in the game/movie/etc. at the time. Now I'm getting more and more into original characters XD

I do have to admit that there are some games that I get inspired from and possibly think of original ideas based off of it. (Example: Pirates of the Caribbean is based on the past, so if you write a RP based on pirates it's very likely to have similar things). Usually for me right now I get inspired by history and actually write historical fiction RP's with a little bit of fantasy/magic

The things with Warrior cat RPs is that it's hard to come up with an original plotline. Let's face it, nothing exciting goes on in a forest. Other than prophecies and whatnot. And with prophecies, there comes an easy chance of godmodding.

And also, it's hard to come up with enough members. Most people make the unfortunate decision of having all four Clans open; trust me, you will not get enough people. It turns out to be two or three people in each Clan (built mainly of leader, deputy and medicine cat) and then you just wander around aimlessly, with no one to interact with.

I do see people try, though. They come up with this whole system of Clans, seasons, prophecies...there's just not many opportunities for originality in Warrior cat RPs.

...I'm a Warrior cat fan, though, so I'm certainly not hating. Erin Hunter is one of my role models. <3

People like claiming higher ranks over all others because they think it makes them look stronger and better than everyone else. And yeah, you pretty much have a point with the lack of rpers in each Clan. I remember starting my own Warriors RP site a long time ago, but the only people we had were Clan leaders, deputies, and medicine cats.

I want to make a feral cat RP, but I'm worried that a bunch of Warriors readers are going to come and ruin it. Don't get me wrong, I love the series, but I have learned from experience that many don't know how to transition from the clans to regular cats. They still make slips like saying StarClan, the Warrior Code, or trying to make clan ranks.

I own a warrior cats role play, and I'm actually really surprised it got as far as it did. Actually, its still going strong at this point. I've noticed that roleplays seem to go farther if you dont start with a certain pltline, and actually let people post what they want to instead of having the strings pulled by the owner all the time. Thats what I did with Brightclan, and now were at around 900 pages, and still moving.
So another rant: Holding the reigns of the RP waaayyy too tightly -.- Seriously, if theres even one post that doesn't involve the big plot of it, and the owner goes haywire -.-

When poeple continue to talk about how the sun shines brilliantly on the eyes of their characters, or the moonlight makes them shine and blah, blah, blah.
