I'm guilty of killing my character's parents off, but lately I've been trying to veer away from that xD I'm generally quite bad at writing histories or playing parents, so yeah. (Although the settings I usually play in are like, orphanages or something. Also veering away from that.)

Do you know how many people kill their characters parents off?

It's bloody ridiculous.
I don't know if it's slack roleplaying, or they're just trying to give their character an edgy quality.
But it's such a prolific thing, do you know how many RPers I've run into that have characters that have murdered parents?
I CANNOT COUNT THINE NUMBER.
Do you know how many people I've run into in real life that have both parents murdered?
NONE.
ZERO.
ZIP.
NIL.
I haven't even found a person with one parent murdered!
In every RP I've ever been in, someone's character has had their parents murdered.
In fact, I joined an RP where pretty much every character had their parent killed off.
I, for one, have never stooped so low.

Uh, one of my best friends friends had their parents murdered. Both of them ^^'' Eheh. It's who I based one of my characters off too, so I put it as their past ^^'' Hehe Fabian x3
So I have one person I know, and one character with a permanent past like that, I mostly change them from RP to RP ^^

Let's see here. I love the 1 x 1 thread. It helps me find 1 x 1 RPs and modt of them are usually good. But this gets on my nerves.

That is OK, but the form...

Personal Annoyance: When people make up RP forms with lots of chatspeak and rule breaking to get other people to laugh at them.

This one guy in a RP is breaking a lot of the RP-creator's rules, yet she isn't saying anything..

I don't think people use NPC's enough.
They can really bring a lot to the RP and make it feel more genuine.
People just think "These are the other characters and that's all that matters. I'll only interact with them!"

I'm a bit guilty of killing off parents. I try not to, but sometimes I need a reason to make.them bent on revenge, which is also why I sometimes have them have parents who disappeared, turned to the evil side or died somehow. But I do rp animals like 90% of the time, so having parents who died or disappeared wouldn't be uncommon in RL. But then again, that's the beauty of roleplaying. It's not real life, so what happens is kind of up to you. Still, some people do need to think outside the box.

Rant:

An Rp I was in. I quit twice.

There were two friends and me, who just joined by chance. Their characters never talked to mine and sometimes I was flooded by 20 pages of posts that did nothing. The usual was 'He sat down and yawned.' And then the person posted like this;

Character Name- He yawned. "I'm bored"

So I'd post like this;

Hannah trotted up to her alpha and smiled, her green eyes sparkling with youthful energy. "Hello, Jace! How are you today?" She was bouncing from paw to paw in excitement at the prospect of the alpha actually talking to her, after many days of having to find other creatures to talk to instead. The leader did not talk much, but perhaps today would be different.

Hannah took a small step back, realising she was casting a shadow on Jace and blocking his view of the warm summer sun. Like a dog, the young she-wolf wagged her tail and continued smiling, her breaths coming in short pants.

And they'd reply;

Jace- Yawned and looked into the trees in silence, waving to Mia who sat in her den.

Ugh. Just ugh. And people who dont post at least semi lit or even with correct spelling annoys me too.
