Guys and Nails

I have asked a few of my friends about this before, but now I want to poll CS.

I have perfect nails. But I'm a guy.
Yes, I have been told time and time again by my lady friends that my nails are perfect. They tell me they're jealous of me for my nails. (If my irl best friend sees this post, she'll attest to that.)
I hardly know how to deal with that, normally guys have ugly destroyed nails, but not me.

Quite honestly I never know what to do with my nails, as I'm a guy. I just feel kinda like pressured or something, like it would be perfect genetics gone to waste if I don't do anything special.

I came to ask what y'all would think when it comes to a guy with perfect nails. I also don't know what kind of length people think looks good, besides not having talons since I'm not a girl. Also I was wondering if it's worth venturing off into the world of clear polish and beyond.

So what does CS think?

It's up to you, really.
I don't think you should feel pressured one way or another just because you're a guy.
You're a person with your own likes and dislikes, just stick with what you're comfortable with, and if other people can't be comfortable with that, that's their problem.

I've got several guy friends I can name off the top of my head with pretty, girlish nails, and each of them does the same thing: leave them to grow out, then cut them to a normal-ish size (around 3-4 mm), then repeat those two steps. None of them use nail polish that I know of, and if they did start using it I wouldn't be against it. If you've got great nails and want to show them off, do so! No one can stop you, and if someone isn't "comfortable" with how you use your nails, they can shush and face the time-out corner. It's your body, you can do want you want to with it. c:

That sounds pretty much like what I do, I keep my nails about that length already, so I think I'll just stick with it. I also buff my nails sometimes. It almost always gets a lot of positive attention from my lady friends.

Just curious, are there any guys here on CS that do any of this? (buffing, longish nails, polish, etc)

Any opinions on what color nail polish I should wear first if I start wearing it?

One of my best guy friends wears glitter polish only on his pinkies. I thought it was cool. It was like his own personal thing i guess. Then again he is mentally disabled and most people think of him as "eccentric". Do what you want and be you and if other people don't like it it's their problem

Even though I'm a girl, my first choice for guy nails (or if I was a guy) would definitely be black. :3 But after that, grey and tan sound good. I'd say stick with monochrome and neutrals.
