Hello, and welcome to "Whats in a name?"
Theres power in a name, it's someones or somethings whole identity, and more. Here you can discuss names, middle names, surnames, names for characters, species, or just talk about your favorite names in general. But before I go on, I'd like to discuss the number one rule. Never, ever, post your own name, the name of someone related to you, or someone you know. This is for the safety of yourself and those around you. If you do this, you will be made to delete/alter your post, and the thread will very possibly be shut down, so once again, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PUT YOUR NAME ON THIS THREAD!

I have done some searching and there doesn't seem to be a thread like this yet, if there is or there is a problem with this thread, I will delete it.

Hayabusa, which is Peregrine Falcon in Japanese. idk =3 I'm just fond of the name!

My favorite OC is either Destiny or Aislin. Destiny means 'Fate', 'the Word', 'Ones Designated Future', etc. and Aislin means 'vision'.

My favorite name that starts with an X is probably Xander for a boy, and Xenia for a girl.

Um... If i had to change my name, it would be to Rose.
What does your favorite OC's name mean?
My favorite OC is one called Etch. It's a long story on how she got it.... She loves to draw, and Etch means a. To cut into the surface of (glass, for example) by the action of acid.
b. To make or create by this method: etch a design on glass.
2. To impress, delineate, or imprint clearly: a landscape that is forever etched in my memory; trees that were etched against the winter sky.

What is your favorite name that starts with an X ?
Well I don't know of too many.. and Xavier is already overused, so I looked it up and chose "Xiu", which means "Beautiful" or "elegant" in Chinese.

What does your fave OC's name mean?
My favorite OC's name is Avaloni, but I have a few..

1.) Avaloni, she's an introvert with an uncharacteristic taste for adventure. Although she and lacks the bubbly and personality of some, and can have an abrasive mood at times, she makes up for it with her bravery and perceptive abilities. I don't know what it means officially; I made it up.. But, I made it up as a combination of the names of the doppelgangers of two characters on a tv show called Roswell. Their names were Ava and Loni... And, yes, my username is after my OC.

2.) Fae Noir, a rich heiress with a secret; she lives on an island of magic. "Fae" from "fairy, mystical, magical, etc.." symbolic of her own heritage (later discovered she has Mer blood) and the magic around her. "Noir" meaning "Black" in French, and ties her to the Noir family, a name her parents made matter when they launched their own cruise line and bought a tiny resort island.

If you had to change your name to color name, what would it be?:
Either to Amber or Ruby... most likely Amber, because on TV it's always the chosen name of the pretty cheerleader.

The name Alani means "orange tree" in Hawaiian, but if I wanted to go all out I'd change it to Chryseis, which means "golden" in Greek. owo

Her name is Lilah, and it means "night" in Arabic. c:

Definitely Xochiyotl, which means "heart of a gentle flower" in Nahuatl~

I've never met a guy named Madison, but I've seen one on TV before. I wouldn't think to name my son Madison (I try to go for funky, out-there-in-the-middle-of-nowhere names cx), but I see it as a unisex name. From popular use it could be seen as feminine, but it would work for either gender. c:
