I had an awesome walk with my dog. I got home at dinnertime, which meant it was time to feed the neighbors' dogs. They're out of time today, so I'm taking care of them. No big deal, right?
It usually isn't a big deal. This time, however.......
Bob recently put a shock collar on Hunter, for absolutely unknowable reasons. And Hunter has to go on a line while outside both an hour before eating and two hours afterward. Also no reason. So I let them out, put Hunter on the stupid line, and let them in. Bailey started licking herself in inappropriate places, ew, and that was all.
Except for the huge bruises and cuts on my legs.
Because Hunter had to go on the stupid line, he was inadvertently set up to make a perfect guillotine chop at my legs. It was just my luck that someone was walking their dog on the bike path, and even worse that they then turned onto the street (neighbors' house is on the corner), and Hunter just had to go insane abut it and run and jump around and hurt my poor legs.
Bruises started forming literally ten seconds after it happened. I have two long blue lines across my shins, two shorter purple lines on my calves, and two harsh, bloody lines across my tendons. I don't care what Bob or Brenda say, I'm not using the dumb line again. I just won't tell them...
_______________
The city (er, township?) recently replaced most of the lampposts on the bike path behind my house. The new ones are ugly, waaaaaay too bright (what kind of moron thinks white is a good color for a bike path at night?), and look like they belong on some pleasant broadway street near the center of town. I hate them. But apparently, some other people hate them as well. At some point either last night or the night before, some stupid kids shattered all of them from here to the little bridge, and the one on the corner is even completely knocked down. That's more than seven lights.
And they also vandalized the property of the nice old man at the end of the street. Among other things, his boat and it's trailer were flipped over.
I understand that kids can do stupid things, but this... this just isn't right. It's vandalism. It's not funny, it's not socially encouraged by your peers, it's just downright wrong. It's obvious that they aren't done, too. I feel bad for the poor old man... I would really love to see those kids get caught and humiliated for it and punished by their parents, if not sent to the pokey for a night for all the trouble they've been causing.
