You know… it kinda bothers me that everyone who doesn't support homosexuality is tagged as "homophobe."
I don't really think that's fair.
I belong to a religion that is stereotyped as hating gays.
But I've talked to many church officials and every single one of them has told me that while they don't teach homosexuality, they are completely accepting of all people - including homosexuals.
It's not fair to say that just because you don't support it that you're a homophobe. Technically I shouldn't support it - but I'm gay. I feel bad for the people who are just following the teachings of their religion and get attacked for being a horrible person. Just because you don't support homosexuality doesn't mean you have anything against gay people.
I mean yeah there are definitely people who are awful to gays. But it's stereotyping and once you've been tagged "homophobe" there's no defense that will ever completely clear that up.
