Really, atheists' main uniting feature is how badly we tend to be treated by religious people, so, yes, we complain about them. Did you know that a quarter of Americans think atheists are inherently immoral? In several of the American states, atheists aren't even allowed to be witnesses or jurors and are banned from holding any civil office, making atheists about the only remaining group in the US whose civil rights are restricted by law. If we were a religious group or an ethnicity, people would be screaming about it, but unfortunately political correctness doesn't extend to atheists. I think a lot of religious people don't realize how much discrimination and hatred atheists have to deal with, especially in the US.

If this comment was aimed at me, I apologize for offending you in any way. I do not know, because generally where I come from people do not care (enough to fight) what religion you follow.

Don't worry, you didn't offend me! ^^ It was more just to show that atheists really do have legitimate complaints, and it wasn't directed at your comment so much as using it and the replies to it as a jumping-off point, if that makes sense. Any indignation in my previous post was targeted at prejudiced American legislators, not you. ;)

:lol: I don't really judge people by religion. But it does annoy me when they are ristricted because of religion (not allowed to eat any animal product, cannot invite friends over or step outside the house, must wear certian clothes to cover face based on your gender, has an aranged marriage)

Sorry to step in...

I do understand not eating certain animal products, as my friend is Hindu, and the cow is sacred, so...it's just not done to eat beef, and I understand that. But having arranged marriges or face coverings, I can't saw I totally agree with...

Sabbath day(Sunday) has always confused me...

I have a friend who is Hindu, and all those things apply for her. She is Vegan I think.

My friend's grandfather is Hindu, and he would vomit at just the sight of beef. I guess to them it's almost the same as seeing a slice of baby on a plate, as the cow is such a sacred animal to them. According to my friend, in India the cows have right-of-way on the streets - it isn't permitted to even chase them off the road, so everyone has to drive around them or wait for them to move by themselves.

A slice of baby on a plate....? That would freak me out... Now I can understand what it would be like.

you can call me Blue~

"No! I am not Prince Hamlet, nor was meant to be;
Am an attendant lord, one that will do
To swell a progress, start a scene or two,
Advise the prince; no doubt, an easy tool,
Deferential, glad to be of use,
Politic, cautious, and meticulous;
Full of high sentence, but a bit obtuse;
At times, indeed, almost ridiculous—
Almost, at times, the Fool."

-from The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock - T.S. Eliot
