I think it's because some people can't really comprehend what it is not to believe in a deity since it's so alien to them, and the thought that someone could not believe frightens thing. But thats just what I think lol

Sorry, I'm a Christian and believe in God fully and truly. But I do not mind other people believing in other things, and I think it's up to you to make that choice.

The good thing about this site is all the Christians I know of are nice and don't try to force you top believe in something.

Really people, I've never even heard of Atheists before this thread. Why do people get so worked up about religion? You're Budist, you're Catholic, you're Atheist= be a civilized person and stick to your own beliefs without critizing another's.

Since this topic is atheists, I had to post this event from today... Grrrr...

My friend's friend (my frenemie, now enemy) is a really strong Jewish. She went up to me and said straight out, "I heard you don't believe in God? Why? You should. You have to. It's impossible not to." She was really mad. I just ignored her and walked away. -.-' I should not have done that should I? I was just having a bad day, and urgh... What should I do to clear that up? I don't want her to be mad at me!!!

I am seriously at a loss. -.-' Lol.

Well how has she been to you before this incident? If she changes the way she feels just because you don't believe in the same things as her, you might want to question her friendship. But if you still want to be friends with her, maybe try explaining to her that is what you believe. I want to say that you should put it behind you, but being in a false relationship is not a friendly path.

Actually, religion is a touchy subject, and it's kinda good we're talking about...just don't go hatin' anybody because they said one thing or another, they are not trying to put down a religion.

Chasonbird, sometimes me and my friends start fighting about religion too. I admit, I've gotten a little angry at some of my friends that say some mean things about God. It makes me very angry, and I sometimes say things. Maybe your friend was worried about you because of what we believe, and because she thought you were one of those 'God-haters' too. *shrugs* I hope you talk to her, though.
