You honestly shouldn't catagorize yourself. If you have a crush on this guy you shouldn't categorize him (or yourself). 'Popular' is just a word a useless word. You are a human, and so is he.

Got a bit of a boring situation here... What do you do when you can't talk to your crush at all?

So here's how it's been going. I think I've completely gotten over J (who played with my feelings), and I think I may like this other guy, K. K went to my elementary school and we're classmates. We're in the same language class, extension maths class and I casually asked him if he was going to the same college (high school in America) next year and he said yes. He's really sensible and quiet, logical and nice. The kind of guy who'd have something interesting to say but not be heard over the louder voices. There are just two things I'm not sure about with him:

1. I feel like he may be a rebound from J. I think I kind of forced myself into liking him .I had always thought he was cute, then dismissed the feeling, but I was desperate to get over J, so I started to take an interest in him. I like his personality and everything, but I don't feel the same butterflies in my stomach. Is it because K's so shy while J was so brash and daring, making it feel like things are moving so slowly? Or is it because I'm just trying to convince myself that I like him?

2. We don't talk at all. The thing is that all his friends are smart extension maths classmates, and in class all the boys avoid the girls and vice versa. K has no girl friends that I know of. The only mutual friends I have with K are Z (childhood friend) and R (who's more of an assertive acquaintance). So while K and his group of friends are okay with my presence, they don't seem to acknowledge me. It's a shame because they're hilarious too and I would really like to hang out with them. I assume they ignore me because they aren't very interested in girls/dating; they mostly focus a lot on schoolwork and saying ridiculous things in foreign languages, haha. So with this whole gender barrier thing, how am I supposed to talk to him?

Any advice on getting closer to someone?

after a traumatic experience when my ex-crush told me he that he's done with me and became an ass, i've come to the conclusion that i should open up to others again in a romantic way and uhm this kid and I made eye contact and it felt like an automatic connection and i sorta had a dreamt hat we were dating and tbh in my dream we looked pretty good together -u- and now i can't get him out of my head. he's kinndaaa popular but not really and he's shy and sweet and playful and cute and argghhh he's also really clueless but I think he might like me a little because today in exploratory he asked me if there was anything valuable in my pencil case and I said no and he took it and dropped in on the floor. Like normal people don't do that unless they want your attention, right? And the fact that he asked if anything in there was expensive like a phone was really cute. This is the first time we've ever spoken and I just want to get to know him more... hhh cutie. I hope this year we can possible date but i've never had a boyfriend and I don't think he's that interested {yet -u-} since its only the second week of school. My goal is to get his number soon but i'm too scared to ask him since we've barely met and he is friends with populars. Not to mention he is friends with my ollddd crush and my old crush made fun of me and he's the most popular kid and all his friends made fun of me so i'm still scared of him.

I think you should try to have an afferent like he did. That was a smart thing to do, he apparently wants to talk to you and get to know you so go for it!!!!

i seriously just want to cry right not.
i have had a horrible day, im sick with a nasty cold but i was still at school.
my best friend- or so he calls us- sits at lunch with my and my other 'friend' who abuses me, only for a short time. he rarely sits with us, and the times he does he says a couple words then leaves.
today, when he actually ate a full lunch, he was with a group of his old friends that he told me were annoying, for a couple minutes. then he went to another table.
he hasnt been texting me, and he hasnt said a word to me all day. not even a 'hi'. we only have one class together and he used to sit by me, but now there is two people between us.
it seems he wants to hang out with everyone else but me, unless we are alone- we live like a minute away.
i have no idea what to do.
it seems that all the nice things he has said about me or claimed to be true are lies.
but i dont want to get mad at him and break our relationship.
cause to me at least, he is my best friend, and i dont know how to make it clear how much he means to me without him thinking that i have a crush on him.

He's my backyard neighbor. I've known him since I was 3. I've had a crush on him for a while, every once in a while go out to play basketball with him and we talk and make fun of each other. He's my best friend and has been there through embarrassing times. I haven't had any classes with him but we've had the same teachers. (Middle School) I'm not sure if he likes me, he listens to me when I do my none stop taking. We share the same interests but each other

Not weird at all! It's possible that he's trying to show off because he likes you. :3 but I could be wrong.

it's not weird at all, and as panther said, he could be trying to show off
and/or impress you and such ;3;
if it was JUST so he could play you the piano,
it was likely he either:
1) simply wanted your opinion
2) wanted to impress you
or 3) all of the above
it could also depend on what song he played, if you know it.
if it's more of a romantic song, he could've played it
to possibly try and drop you a hint, y'know?
(but there's also the possibility he just likes the song xD
you can never really know for sure unless you ask)
