so there's this guy who I consider one of my best friends, I've never looked at him and thought "oh my goodness, I love him he's so amazing" no. I see him as a best friend that's it. Friday night at youth [church thing] we were driving back to church after eating out and we were spitting spit balls at this guy. He was sitting behind me and decided to sit beside me, I let him because I didn't mind. The bus driver [my dad's best friend, -_-] looked back and said "awwww... Is that Jeremy and Jen[just my nickname but he said my full name] sitting by each other, I was like uh NO! But he wouldn't deny it, and he was blushing so I pushed him off the chair and he moved to the back. Everyone keeps teasing me when I do not like him. Sunday at church he started to actually have a conversation and I seriously think he likes me. But I don't like him like that, I don't like anyone like that, and his best friend [my past crush] has been seriously flirting with me lately and I'm just like .... uwu I don't like you.... But I don't want to be mean and say so. Because i could be wrong, and they are both my best friends.

My past crush -- his big brother is a HUGGGEEE flirt. So he may just contain his brother's "hobby" as my friends and I call it

Let's start at the beginning.
Last year I had a huge crush on this guy just because he was nice. Stupid, right? Well anyway my best friend started liking him and he liked her - it was more obvious than a infected zit. She knew I liked him so she never asked him out until I said "___, it's ok if you like him - it's obvious he likes you." And said I was alright with it, but I felt like *^*^ at the time, and over summer I got over him completely.

THEN this boy who I thought I'd never have a chance with became my friend; sweet, hot, kind and caring. He had his imperfections, but so does everybody. He's quite popular and I weaned myself off him, but it was way harder than last time. When my blonde, tanned, bright blue eyed best friend started flirting with him, and he seemed to like it, I gave up hope.

Since the other day though, when we went climbing, I've caught him looking at me so much, he's been nice, loving, flirtatious... I pretty much DREAMED of this for 3-4 months.

I've been trying to get back into him but I've talked myself out of it so much I can't, I wish I could but I can't.... AGGGGH!

xxxinappropiate things - it is disturbing but
xxxI got a message from someone who actually
xxxjust wanted to help. I was thrilled.

xxxHowever, I don't like putting a lot on people
xxxso I kind of cut corners when talking to them.
xxxSo we just started talking about our likes/
xxxdislikes and we were joking around about
xxxmovies and books. Found out I was talking to
xxxa male, I was like cool it's all good - he hasn't
xxxtried getting inappropiate things so I think I
xxxam good right? Right.

xxxxxasked me for my age.. I was like 'oh cripes'
xxxxxbecause I sound older than I really am - so
xxxxxclose to being a legal adult but not so I

xxxxxmade this guessing game for how old he
xxxxxthought I was lol.

xxxxxTurns out, he is 12 years older than me.
xxxxxI was like 'oh well, then I should not get
xxxxxinvolved in any kind of relationship with
xxxxxhim.' Yeah if only that mental note would
xxxxxhave traveled to my heart.

xxxxxWe have been talking for months, no we
xxxxxare not a couple but we always act like we
xxxxxare - I have such strong feelings for him.
xxxxxI have dated plenty of bad guys - the ones
xxxxxeveryone warns you about? Yeah I have
xxxxxmade those mistakes - and over time I have
xxxxxconstructed what I want in a guy within my
xxxxxbrain. He fits the bill!

xxxxxDad that I want to be with someone who is
xxxxx12 years older than me? In fact, how am I

First off, are you sure he is who he says he is?

if you can legally date him, then if your dad doesn't like it, then he doesn't like it.
Your not breaking the law so there's not a lot he can do about it.
I'd just be straight with him to be honest.

I want to tell him but my Dad is the kind of person
who gets scary mad - and I don't want to make him
angry - in fear for myself & the guy I like.

Plus my feelings are so strong that if my Dad didn't
approve it would be like a giant weight. My dad's
opinion matters a lot to me.

In that case I wouldn't tell him your dating this guy,
but maybe over time talk to him about it.
maybe bring it up that you like a guy and there's a twelve year age gap.
see his reaction.
you may need to being him round to the idea of you being with this person,
let him know he makes you happy, and that you respect his opinion but you really want to be with him.
It may take time but I'm sure eventually he'll come round.
