I've read most the replies to this, and most of them have someone asking the other out. My current one didn't happen that way, he didnt officially ask me out and I didnt ask him. It just sorta happened. Which as I've notived, happens a lot as you get into late teens and early twenties.
Ivan and I met at an FFA Convention this past year, at a dance. He was sitting at a table, and I sat down across from him not thinking. He looked over at me and smiled, I smiled back and went back to singing the song that was playing. Next thing I knew, he had come over and pulled put a chair to sit beside me and said "Ya looked lonely".
Well we started talking and got to know each other a bit, before I dragged him out onto the floor to dance the chacha slide. After that he taught me how to swing and two-step, and we slow danced a bit. He kissed my hand and got my number at the end of the dance. He then walked me back to my floor in the hotel, holding my hand the way. Then we went to bed. Or well, he texted me by then.
The next day we hung out together at the convention itself, getting to know one another better. We spent an hour before dinner at a lil cafe in our hotel talking and spent two hours after sitting in a sofa on the second floor before the next dance. (Which he got me a ticket to).
That dance...it was amazing. We danced all the country songs and line dances. We were sitting there resting, when all of a sudden he does the ol' "oh my shoulder hurts" and stretches out his arm behind me. "I once caught a fish this big, or was it this?" Pulling his arm to wrap around my shoulders. He gave me a grin and we sat there and snuggled for a bit. Halfway through the dance we kissdd for the first time. And after the dance we spent another hour on a couch on the first floor talking and kissing. He walked me to the third floor before giving the best goodnight kiss.
The next day we met on a park bench (I was supposed to be waiting inside to get an award but I made it in time anyway) and talked and kissed a lil etc. Once he left...we texted the whole way home (hours and hours). I asked him what we were going to do and he said (always the gentleman) "You need to find happiness" and I told him I'd found some. So he told me "Then you've been claimed as my southern belle" and he was claimed as my cowboy.
He never asked me to be his girlfriend or be in a relationship, it just sorta happened as you can see. He does say I'm his girlfriend, so there's no confusion. Just trying to point out that there doesnt always have to be an "Official Question" to go out with someone. Just make sure ya'll are on the same page and it's all good.
Hope this helps, sorry for being so long! ^-^
