Ah. Now I see the problem. Thank you for quoting that, as I now see what all of the fuss is about. In that particular instance...that would come off as some-what offensive to non-Christians. I now see your point. :) Thanks for clearing that up for me, Atwood.

*Sigh* i hate it when arguments rise, especially on this thread. You guys, lets just watch what we say. Pray for others, but don't go to far. Everyone has a right to believe in their own thing. Whether or not you were trying to pray for them to be christian, lets just not make the same mistake twice.
Thanks Atwood for helping us clear this up ^^

I want to pray for this girl at my school. She isn't the nicest, but she doesn't have many friends. Her parents are going through rough stuff, and her dad is basically shunning her. Please help me pray for her <3

Hey guys, I have a question. Do you think it's wrong to post on What's your opinion on gay pride topics with a respectful and biblical reply?

I think it's perfectly fine. :) I used to do it quite a bit, when I had the time to spend hours on the computer.

I think it's fine as long as you stay respectful. I do not mean this in an anti-gay way at all, but from my personal experiences, it seems that those supporting the LGBTQ community, for the most part, don't like Christians getting involved. I'd prefer to stay out of it all, because in the past, I've tried just lightly saying things like, "in my opinion, I think homosexual acts are a sin," and then I get yelled at by a lot of people.

Also, it's kind of funny that a lot of people (usually ones who aren't experienced in having logical and mature arguments) always tell me, "you're not gay and you don't know what it's like!" And then I tell them how I was bisexual for years, and still struggling with it, and it usually quiets them down.

Wolverine's Origins, when/if you post your opinion, if you use the two verses from Leviticus that concern homosexuality, be careful. I guarantee you that someone will reply saying, "oh, well Leviticus also forbids tattoos, eating bloody meat, wearing clothes of mixed fabrics, etc., and you don't have a problem with those?" There's a reply for that, too, if you'd like to use it. Long-story-short, explain to them that the laws in Leviticus were written during a time when Jesus had not yet died for our sins, and God's people had to live by these rules (along with making sacrifices) to have their sins forgiven. Jesus' death wiped out those rules and made a new covenant for us to live by. But, does that mean that homosexuality is no longer a sin? Nope! Homosexuality is again mentioned in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, which is in the New Testament, after Jesus' death on the cross, meaning that it is still considered a sin.

If anyone on this thread ever gets in an argument about homosexuality as a sin, feel free to use my explanation, or even tell the other person that they can PM me and ask me more about it.

And in light of what Atwood was saying here recently, I'm not shoving things down anyone's throat, before anyone asks. But, I believe that I am supposed to stand up for my faith and I will state my opinion and back it up with what I believe. c:

June Bug wrote:They're praying (which is essentially wishing) openly, in a forum I read that I and people like me read, that will conform to your religion. A religion that made me miserable for the majority of my childhood. :/ I never said they couldn't pray here, she can pray all she wants, but just as it's inappropriate to pray for god to rid the world of everyone who dresses in purple clothing, it is also inappropriate to pray for non-Christians to be like you. It implies that we are lesser than you in some way and that we shouldn't exist. It's not a kind sentiment and it honestly does sting, especially after having two other people try to push Christianity on me in a
similar way, just today. Even though this is a Christian thread, this is a public forum and many non-Christians who enjoy studying
religion do read this thread. It is not okay to post things that are offensive to us just because the thread is geared toward your crowd. I really don't appreciate being insulted on a forum I expect to be able to relax on, after a long day of other Christians telling me I need Jesus and I'm going to hell, which was made worse by the fact that I wasn't allowed to defend myself as I was on shift
and my boss would easily have fired me for it. I live in a heavily Christian area and it's often made clear that I'm not welcome if I make my religious status known. I'm sorry this is turning into a rant, but I feel like I really need to drive home my point because this keeps happening and I am still subjected to the sting of things like this in a place where I shouldn't be.
If Christians honestly do love their neighbors and care for others,
then you'll care enough to respect non-
Christians be not praying for us to change. It is a small thing, but these small things build up and I'm honestly
just very very tired of it. I just want to be left alone to observe your religious culture in peace without feeling
like I'm being called out and insulted.

I'm really sorry about that. It's terrible that you have to go through such oppression, and I hope that you won't generalize all Christians as high and mighty. Lots of us respect other people and their religions, but we do occaisonally make mistakes. Those of us who don't try to push people to convert are not seen as much, because we are not barging onto topics with "your religion is wrong".

None of us on this thread mean any harm. I'm glad that you are able to relax here, and if you ever have any questions or just want to chat we will be as welcoming as we can.

Perfectly fine. xD I've been kind of scared to go to that topic too much- as I don't suppot gay rights I've had bullying experience on another website in a past- but there's nothing wrong with stating your opinion.
