We have been studying Africa south of Sahara in class this month and it's just been stirring up a want in me to go to Uganda. Uganda was the first country I wanted to go to as a missionary. This dream started around 3rd grade. We watched a video today in class and I just wanted to pack my bags and fly off to Africa. So please just pray that maybe some time in the future God can open a door for me to go to Uganda (or Romania, Hungary, Japan, or back to Peru).

Guys, a family in my school/parish really need some prayers right now.

I'm not sure if the family who was affected would like it if I released too many deatails, so I'm just going to say this until I know for sure:
The father was killed, the mother and one son are in the hospital in critical condition (at least one of them are in a coma), and the other son was able to save himself and his eight year old sister so they are safe, but obviously incredibly upset.

So please, pray for that family. For healing and God's grace for the mother and brother, for comfort for all of them (especially the eight year old girl), for God to welcome the father into Heaven with him, and for the man who committed the crime. Please. My whole communtiy is so shaken up and shocked by this. Please pray for them.

The mother seems to be stabilizing and doing better than before, though still in critical condition. The brother, unfortunately, is a different story. I don't know details, but I know he isn't doing well. Today in his homily, our pastor said the brother would need "a miracle" to recover. Please continue praying for this family! I can't tell you how much prayers are needed righ now.

I would pray for the people suffering in Africa for reasons such as starvation.

+the rumors of war between Sudan and South Sudan. So yes, please pray for the people. This is one if not the most saddest chapters we have covered in GI.

I posted the below on TheComfortCorner, and I (And my god-sister) could really use some prayer.

I'm speechless on the matter. I keep trying to pray, but I have no words...

My mom has a friend, who has been her best friend since middle school. My mom's friend's daughter, my god-sister (My mom is her god mother, and her mom is mine) grew up with me. I've known her all her life, and she's like a sister or a cousin. They live in a different state, so I don't see her very often, and calls can be a little difficult because of the time difference.

She's threatened suicide twice now... And she's been cutting herself. I just found out today. On the phone, and even in person, when I talked to her on her birthday yesterday, she sounded as if nothing was wrong. She is extremely good at hiding her true feelings. I am so... I really can't explain it. I just really don't know what to do. I can't really do anything, except pray, but then I have no words to pray. I am so scared. Does she not know how beautiful and precious she is? If I were to tell her that, she wouldn't believe me.

She lives in a trouble home, you might say, and is extremely angry at her parents. Her step-dad is verbally abusive, to both my god-mother and my god-sister. I want so badly to be able to do something, anything, to help her, but I have no way to help. I just wish she could come live with us, in a non-stressful environment, away from her step-dad and mom, and away from everything that is wrecking her life. I just wish that the step-dad wasn't there, that these little girls (My god-sister's little sisters. She's got three younger sisters) don't grow up thinking that that's what's normal.


I am just so... blown away, and not in the good way.

I'm also praying for Riverspell and SplashofOrangeJuice: May you get through your tough times in your life and {in SplashofOrangeJuice's case at least} may your friends get better too! <3 My brother was suffering with Depression for the longest time, but I think he's finally getting better! He has a job now that he really likes so he's been doing better ever since.

Praying for ElephantGirl and her family, I'm am very sorry about your great aunt! Praying for all of you! <3

For Supernuk, hope you get to go to Africa soon! I’ll be praying for those living there as well; the starvation and war is ridiculous and should not be going on! No one deserves such lives. Praying!

And last, but not least, for Neelix and her friend and family! That is terrible! My brother was verbally abusive (and once in a while still blows up in such ways) and I know in that sense what your friend and her family are going through. Praying, praying, praying! <3 May God help them through these tough times! <3
