Christians on CS!

This is probably going to end up in another debate,but what do you guys think about a daemon? It's basically your concience formed into a living creature. You talk to it sort of. It isn't a religion or a cult,but I just want to see what you guys thought.

I think it's people clinging to something Phillup Pullman made up, often to the point of obnoxiousness. It's not religion, it's fandom, and shouldn't be confused or treated as something religious, just as my Jedi fan-character shouldn't be treated as something religious.

As with many things there's the possibility of someone taking it too seriously and slipping into idolatry, but I think people often underestimate such spiritual threats. I know where I am the greatest threat to people's spiritual lives is definitely football! They would rather think of the SEC and the Georgia Bulldawgs than what they could do to make themselves and the world a better place.

If she treats it with all the seriousness of a magic eight ball or a game of Monopoly, I suppose so.

If she actually thinks she's out to contact spirits... I think she needs to reread her Bible and realize that asking for such trouble is not the wisest idea.

Alright, thanks. She doesnt take it with much seriousness, and I currently think its intresting, but fake. My dad and her both tried it (Different times) And they never contacted anything. Thanks for the reply

First off, I need to say that I don't mean to sound rude or obnoxious and I don't mena to hurt anyone's feelings.
I personally think she shouldn't be using them at all. I believe they are used to drive us away from God, and I don't think that's good. You should never use an ouiji board, in my opinon.

Your friend as to be very careful. Demons can Ouija boards to pretend to be a lost family member or friend.

Also the Bible tells us not to try and contact those who have left this world. They are gone for good.

"Someone may say to you, "Let's ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do." But shouldn't people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead?" Isaiah 8:19

"The living at least know they will die, but the dead know nothing. They have no further reward, nor are they remembered. Whatever they did in their lifetime—loving, hating, envying—is all long gone. They no longer play a part in anything here on earth." Ecclesiastes 9:5-6

When King Solomon (the author of Ecclesiastes) says the dead know nothing, he is not contrasting life with afterlife, but life with death.

Yes- ouiji boards, even in fun, are dangerous. Real demons use them, and that isn't really something to be played with. The devil likes to play dirty, and he could easily trick your friend. I'd advise her to stop, or at least not use it very much.

Ghosts don't exist I believe. My youth minister said they don't exist, but demons do. I was told by my youth minister that if you wake up and can't move or talk a demon is holding you down, and all you have to say to make all of that to disipear is to say Jesus. That happend to him once and he said Jesus and all of it stopped.
I will pray for your friend tonight or now.

Where did this come from? I believe ghosts exist that's truly your youth ministers opinion.

I believe that ghosts don't exist, and that it's just demons trying to trick you. I've been told this very same thing (besides the fact that you have to say Jesus) many times before. I've also been told that praying or just saying Jesus or God works to make demons go away.
