Christians on CS!

I listen to both Christian and Japanese music, Though I am american. I make sure none of my songs have any bad references/words, ect... But I don't believe what music you listen to affects too much.

The pastor at my church is always going...

"Just because you do or don't listen to christian music, doesn't mean you are or arn't a christian."
Thats not excact, but, you know what I mean.

I do think that the music we listen to influences our walk with Christ, but you could listen to far worse than country music. I can't even stand listening to pop music anymore. A lot of rock music is chockful of sinful references, too.

Yea,I meant country wise. I do not like heavy metal or any of those because it's a connection with Satan. Especially Metalica. I watched a documentary on it,and they said it was connected to Satan.

I wouldn't say that metal as a genre has a connection to Satan (Skillet, Switchfoot, Disciple, and 7eventh Time Down are all metalChristian bands!)...lyrical content is what I use to judge whether to listen to a certain song or artist. Of course others may have other methods, it's what's comfortable with you.

I don't think the music you listen to has much to do with whether or not you're Christian. c: I listen to a lot of punk rock, rock and Alternative, and a lot of it certainly isn't Christian, but that doesn't make me any less religious than I am now. xD I choose not to get influenced by the lyrics much.

But filling ourselves with worldly sin through hearing some songs is damaging to the Holy Spirit...

Colossians 3:5-10 "Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. If any secular music contains inappropriate or unGodly references, it is better to cast it out than to continue lying to yourself that it's okay to listen to it. Our bodies are holy temples, God's holy temples...so if you listen to trash then that's what you're filling God's temple with.

I saw the most amazing thing. I was having an awful day, looked up at the clouds and there was a hole for where the sun was shining through in the shape of a heart. God is always there. <3

Which reminds me - last night we finally got rain. We've been waiting for months, and all we'd been getting was clouds. I mean, don't get me wrong - we were thankful for the drop in temperature, being as hot as its been (we experienced the hottest summer on record here) but we were desperate for rain.

So last night, it not only rained, but there was this lightning. It was so long since I'd seen lightning, I was totally in awe! It was constant for about twenty minutes, as in right after the other. I literally saw lightning start at the bottom and go up! A lot of it started with a flash and then burst into streaks. It was beautiful <3 It looked more like a fireworks show than lightning.

The other day, I was at the hospital and a close family member died. I ran outside crying, laied against my truck sobbing, when something seemed to want me to look up. I glanced up, and through teary eyes I saw 'I ♥ u' in the clouds. God was trying to tell me it was alright...

We finally got rain today. Thank the Lord...

That's amazing! It's great to know God will always be there to comfort us <3 Btw, can someone add me to the list? XD
