2 Corinthians 12:9-10
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
He knew that being persecuted let God's power be known, he didn't hate it, because of that reason.
He may take pleasure in being persecuted, but if he actually liked being hurt and injured and persecuted, then he was not a model christian.
We should not enjoy pain. We shouls just be able to bear through it and be glad knowing that it has done good. Not be glad because we are being hurt.
I don't think there are any "shoulds" or "shouldn'ts" with Jesus. What do you really mean by "model christian"?
