Any suggestions on how to soothe a swollen and sore throat? quq (Whooping cough is not fun)

Honey. Honey is the best you can get (if you can find raw honey in you're grocery store, that's even better- but regular honey will do as well). Just eat a spoonful every so often and it should sooth it for awhile, and the good thing about it is there's no nasty side effects or anything and you can eat as much of it as you want, when you want. But also hot tea is great as well (a cup in the morning and evening would be best) or any warm drink will sooth it as well. Try not to eat toast or hard foods like that, and apple sauce and other soft foods like that would help- but stay away from dairy products as much as possible as that will make it worse.

I was going to someplace where I would have had to talk to a lot of people, but I was having an allergy attack and in a bad mood because of it. Mom suggested I go to the store and get some medicine, but if we did that, we would have been late and wouldn't know where everyone was. She said this would be fine, we could just turn back, but I was in such a bad state that I thought we should just get me to bed as soon as possible. Plus, I would have been in a really bad mood and I didn't want to unpleasant to anyone because it wouldn't be their fault. Mom gets mad at me for insisting I go home, and calls me uncooperative, lectures me about all of her problems and I start crying because she hurt my feelings... We get in an argument, with lots of screaming on both sides and crying on my part, and I couldn't get out of it because we were in the car. I went over my reasons again, including the bad mood one and suddenly acts like it was the first time I ever talked about it, and starts saying that I was only using the allergies as a cover for the "real" reason to go home, my bad mood. I kept telling her that I had been saying from the start that the allergies were giving me a bad mood, but she refuses to listen and shuts herself in her room once we got home.

Now I'm just sitting here, crying...

Thanks <3 Probably does. I think she thinks I was mean/rude to her daughter or something. I was, but only because some of the things she had done to me. If she knew the way her daughter acted, she wouldn't of been giving me ugly looks.
