Really? XD

I tried a thirty pound bow once, and it was way too heavy for me to draw. When I switched to a twenty-five pound bow, I started shooting more accurately, though I may advance to a twenty eight pound bow.

Yeah, I am hoping that a twenty pound bow will be okay for now. It's all I can afford!

Just so everyone knows, I have been having some family problems and I am also finishing up school for this year, so if I do not respond to PMs, trades, etc. please be patient. I may have to take a short hiatus randomly, and I may not be able to warn anyone. I hope you can understand, everything is pretty stressful right now </3

I've had quite an interest in archery for some time now, but haven't had the time or resources to take it up. I don't know if there's a place where I try it out before I buy my own bow and arrows.

I just discovered that I'm finally allowed to buy my own set of bows and arrows! I've been practicing for the past year at this archery place, and I'm getting pretty good at at xD

XD I'm sure you'll do great. Its best to start out small and work your way up to the advanced levels. :3

Maybe try looking up for archery classes? :3 Most archery classes provide both bows and arrows, so I don't think you'll need to provide your own. :P
On Amazon.com, though, they sell some pretty good bows along with arrows. I suggest you find your eye-dominance and drawstring weight, though, before actually setting out for getting bows. ;)

Lucky you XD I still have to wait a while before getting a bow of any sort :P

i've been doing it off an on as a hobby since august '12. as of now i've got a pretty decent compound that's set around twenty five or so pounds, and really i could pull it back even further nowadays. trust me, it's really challenging at first, but it pays off big time in the long run!

LOL, I can't draw back thirty pound drawstrings for the life of me. I prefer to stick with twenty-five pound bows. :3

I've been an archer for almost a year now, and own my own bow and set of arrows. c: I'm left eye dominant and my draw weight is... Around twenty pounds, I think? |D

For those looking to buy a bow, I'd suggest looking at the Lancaster website. I ordered mine from a local archery store from the Lancaster catalogue. cx

Wow, my bow seems so light... It's like 15 pounds. XD I've sort of outgrown it though, so hopefully I can buy a new one... You guys are so lucky that you have an archery place nearby where you can practice! I have a nice target range set up in my backyard, but I feel like I'm drawing back the string wrong because it always end up hitting my arm when I release, which really hurts. :/ I want to find somewhere where I can learn and get better, but the nearest place is 45 minutes away.

I know how to fix this. c: try a less tight grip on the bow. That way your elbow will be further from the string and your arm won't get hit. My archery instructor taught me this, hehe. If you don't have an armguard, you should also try and purchase one.

I'm being a huge hypocrite because I never wear mine |D
