because the forums are more or less PG-13. similarly, Iron Man 3 had such a rating, iirc. that's what the ratings are there for. you can use them to pay attention and figure out what will and will not upset you, but as adults - or teenagers, anyway - we are expected to shrug off minor invectives like hell, damn, and crap with little to no irritation, as per the instructions of the admin.
not every character will be a perfect Christian just as not every person you encounter will be a perfect Christian, and the idea of Tony Stark - womanizing, egotistical, playboy drunkard Tony Stark - avoiding the word 'damn' is downright laughable. the point of his character is that he is nearly the exact opposite of wholesome sweetheart Captain America.
being surprised that there's cussin' in an Iron Man film is sort of like being surprised that there are explosions or robots in said Iron Man film, lol
