also i've found myself really wanting a cat pelt
but there's no way i'll ever be able to get one legally unless i find a road kill or naturally dead kitty [since i could never skin one of my own] and every dead cat you can find around here is either rendered flat and broken beyond repair or devoured within a night :/

Cat pelts?? My closet vegan side just winced. You could get some perfectly adorable fake fur coats almost anywhere xD

it's their hobby okay no need to freak out about it. they didn't ask for opinions on "should i get a cat pelt".

they're not talking about COATS by the way. they're talking about PELTS. you know, rugs, taxidermy. stuff like that.'

plus fake pelts aren't the same and they're bad for the environment.

But, cats are overpopulated anyway. It's not going to hurt anything. So, I mean...Yeah. I wouldn't want one myself, but I mean, the whole 'save the blahblahblah' thing is old.

Don't get me wrong, I like cats. I have two; both are fixed. But they are seriously overpopulated, and I mean, yeah..

yeah man kitties are gr8 and a pelt of one would be really helpful for anatomy and fur reference and such
but it's obviously illegal to own any fur from a dog or cat that was killed for such a purpose, or even buy or sell any [the cause of death doesn't matter]. the only way you can own it is if you use a naturally dead/roadkill/etc. cat yourself and don't plan on selling it [in my state, at least]. 
and fake fur is pretty ugly imo and isn't good at all for reference. anyway, if i could put an animal that would have otherwise rotted away to nothing to use, than i'd prefer to do that rather than buy some fake fur. though, that's going to be a bit hard given my location
also, like undertaker said, feral cats are quite overpopulated and are terrors to the environment so that's not much of an issue.

By your own logic, I could tell you not to give your opinion on telling me that I'm not allowed to stick up for animals.

Wow I sound really angry. I'm not. Also I'm not really that much of a tree-hugger. It;s just coming out of me, I swear I don't know from where. I'm actually very normal.

Not to continue this argument, but whether a species is "over populated" or "under populated" we shouldn't kill them either way. I mean, humans are the most populated species on earth, but nobody is going around saying "humans are too over populated, lets kill them."
