Annoyance: i hate my hair. why doesn't it look pretty?

We talked about the Boston explosions today in Sociology. Half my class laughed when the news item said that people lost their limbs, and others died. Seriously, you people are heartless and insane. >.>

I'm just saying, why would that many people actually laugh out loud of it. People not really feeling anything about it is fine. There's nothing really wrong about that, especially when they don't even have any connections to them. But many are suffering. And yet you laugh at that? *you meaning people laughing, not you you*
I honestly can't say I'm deeply saddened by this. Maybe even the same as not feeling anything, even. But it's disrespectful to laugh and I find that offensive to me.

so yesterday in class our teacher showed us that speech that Jamie Oliver did at TED 2010

people started laughing that people die from obesity and at one point the video paused and people were wondering why it stopped
and a kid yelled out "jamie oliver died of obesity" and they started going into hysterics
at that point i stood up and loudly asked "how the hell is that funny" for which he could not give me a reason
