"I am backstage in Asbury Park, New Jersey. It is Saturday, May 19th, 2012 and I am pacing behind a massive black curtain that leads to the stage. I feel the breeze from the ocean find its way around me and I look down at my arms, which are covered in fresh gauze due to a losing battle with a heat rash, which had been a mysterious problem in recent months. I am normally not nervous before a show but I am certainly filled with angry butterflies most of the time. This is different- a strange anxiety jetting through me that I can only imagine is the sixth sense one feels before their last moments alive. My pupils have zeroed-out and I have ceased blinking. My body temperature is icy.
We get the cue to hit the stage.

The show is… good. Not great, not bad, just good. The first thing I notice take me by surprise is not the enormous amount of people in front of us but off to my left- the shore and the vastness of the ocean. Much more blue than I remembered as a boy. The sky is just as vibrant. I perform, semi-automatically, and something is wrong.
I am acting. I never act on stage, even when it appears that I am, even when I’m hamming it up or delivering a soliloquy. Suddenly, I have become highly self-aware, almost as if waking from a dream. I began to move faster, more frantic, reckless- trying to shake it off- but all it began to create was silence. The amps, the cheers, all began to fade.

All that what left was the voice inside, and I could hear it clearly. It didn’t have to yell- it whispered, and said to me briefly, plainly, and kindly- what it had to say.

Wow. I attended this. This was their last show. I remember thinking how great it was. It was a phenomenal show, or so I thought. It actually really bothers me that this was how he felt the entire time.

The fact that I'm not allowed to put chemical nail polish on in the house because "it gives my step mother a headache." Boohoo, suck it up; you "always" have them, so what makes a difference? You're selfish, annoying, a food hoarder, greedy, and seemed to have replaced my name with "Honey." No, first of all, don't call me that - you're not my mom. She died two years ago.
I lived in this house before you. So don't kick me out of the room when I'm watching a movie with my dad, who I grew up with. Don't control whether or not I do my chores, where I go, what I watch, what I read, or what I sleep. You make up scenarios about me doing things my dad wouldn't like and lie to him, telling him them to get me in trouble.
You never clean. I'm the one always having to clean. The kitchen table is cleaned off by me and two hours later it's covered - in your crap! You complain about having to do everything. Yeah right! My dad and I have to do all the work outside, while we work our a**es off, and you cozy up inside. Not being able to do anything because you're pregnant, sick, tired, or anything! Guess what? I look after the kids, you're not pregnant, I know when you lie about that, and you know what? Whenever I'm sick or tired, etc, I still have to do it! You bother me, and bother me!
You ground me for not listening to you, even when you're not the boss of me. I'm sick and tired of your endless lying, sweet talk, and crap. I want you gone, but oh wait! I can't divorce you and my dad! You move into my house and start thinking you now own me! My dad doesn't like the way I treat you, and apparently it "needs to stop." Thanks a lot for ruining my life. It was perfectly fine before you came in it.

My mom is sick. She had an illness called pots. It makes her very weak and tired. I can barely see her on weekends, because I am with my dad {Yes, my parents are divorced}. He called me fat and his cooking is terrible. I just want to be with my mother and sleep in my own bed. Also, we were going to Florida for spring break. That stupid illness pots makes it very unlikely. My dad lives in a stinky and crappy apartment. I can't take this anymore. I just want my mom.

You need to say this to her face (if not your father). or go on a strike. You don't deserve this treatment. You may be a kid, but you still have a heart and soul and rights.
