What's so good about LOTR?

Everybody is suddenly swooning over it; but I just find it boring.

I've read the books. ALL of them. I've seen and own the movies. I've loved LOTR for quite some time now. It's almost insulting how there are all these "die-hard fans" cropping up that don't even know there ever was a book!

To be fair a lot of the new fans are too young to have read the books. Besides, I don't understand why a lot of Ringers are complaining about all the new fans? :/ I love it when new people find a fandom.

I love the books and have read them all XD I own and love all the movies.... I used to watch it all the time when I was younger...And then these "Fans" Start popping up and I'm like, "Have you played the hobbit game that came out for play station 2 a few years back?" and they just stare at me.

No fan is better than another one. It doesn't matter at what point in time that they came into the fandom. Just because they were introduced from the movies and not the books doesn't make them any lesser of a fan than you.
Same with all fandoms.

i hate my county and everything associated with it
the water people like turned off my family's water because someone stole our payment right out of the pay box so we had to pay $81 to get it back on, and my mom just had to call the water people because they said they'd turn off our water if she didn't pay like $90 or something. my guess is it was because my neighbor stole the money she mailed to them right out of the mailbox

Mom boss went to her bank because she told him his bounce checked,proceeded to yell at her and fire her,didn't pay her for the two weeks she worked,and my brother is sobbing. Then he followed her out to her car,continuing to yell at her.
I wish I was there. I would have freaking punched him.
